Want to really hit 'em where it hurts? At the bottom of the CBS News web site (www.cbsnews.com), there's a link called "Contact Us". Click on that link and send a message that simply states...

"Dan Rather = Richard Nixon".

What's the friggin' frequency NOW, Kenneth? Heh!

I just emailed them that they need to publically admit that the documents were forgeries, and they should apologize to President Bush. I told them they will have lost all credibility if they don't.

How do we get a campaign going demanding that Rather RESIGN??

Can you imagine the outrage that would follow if it turned out Mr Bush or Mr Cheney forged documents? They would be forced to quit.

Oh, that's low, that's a really dirty trick - I love it!:)

Rather 'made his bones' in that one White House press conference when Nixon asked him if he was running for political office, and Rather shot back, "No, are you?!"

Really catchy, huh, but the liberal media made a hero out of him for that stupid reply because their Watergate lynching was on. It made his career.

In his denial this morning Rather sure sounded like Nixon. It was the first thing that popped into my head when I read it.

"I want to make clear to you, I want to make clear to you if I have not made clear to you, that this story is true."

Pretty good Nixon imitation if you ask me.

But I think Tricky Dick was a pretty good president, based on his record. Why would I want to slime his name with a comparison to Rather? Remember, if the left had not subverted the United States by siding with the Vietcong, Nixon would have won that war.

If he'll just work in "not a crook" and his dog, the identity switch will be complete.:)

Another thread on Free Republic suggests that CBS not be allowed to moderate a presidential debate. I think that would be a suitable punishment for their stupidity.

We don't want them to fire Blather so he can become a matyr.

Why would I want to slime his name with a comparison to Rather?

It's kind of reverse sliming. Rather helped lead the liberal charge to take out Nixon. Watergate was trivial, the phone tap Nixon hadn't known or approved of didn't even work. And the Cuban break-in team headed by the mysterious Hunt (former CIA) were either: 1)The Keystone Cops, or 2) unwittingly working for some other party in a plan that could only hurt the RNC. The wrong phone was bugged, for instance, and when the first bug failed, the idiots returned in such a clumsy way that the nightwatchman couldn't help but notice them.

Pardon the rant, but there was so much beneath Watergate that no one person knows the truth to this day. Who was "Deep Throat"? A composite man of Woodward and Bernstein's, how honest has Woodward proven to be since then? Watergate made Woodward's career, Bernstein went into a personal tailspin, and Rather made his whole career off helping take Richard Nixon down.

Comparing him to Richard Nixon is really cutting, because he painted Nixon to be blacker than Satan and such a liar.

I understand the thinking, but I have been defending Nixon for years, and I wouldn't do it.
It's funny, a few years ago I saw an interview with Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane, and she was still bitching about Nixon 20 some years after the fact. He was, and is, apparrently, their personal satan.
