On Thursday Night Football, in New England, i.e. Massachussetts, ABC announcers said the following
John Madden: That series was a flip flop
Al Michaels: Well, you're in the right state for that
Damn. I heard Madden but since I wasn't paying attention I didn't hear Michaels.
LAst year he slammed Clinton when commenting on the lack of integrity by officals or owners...can't remember. Michaels is definately on our side.
I love Al Michaels. I've heard him say things like this before.
I remember that. He said it sounded very "Clintonian"
Michaels also mentioned something about Enron.
BTTT!!!!!
Al Michaels is my new hero. Woo Hoo!!!
This is turning out to be a banner day!!!
Al Michaels: "Do you believe in Miracles? Yes!"
Yeah, Al Michaels is funny. He called Katherine Harris "an American hero" back during post-election chaos. The response: silence in the booth. I think it's clear where Al stands.
Cool football ping! :)
Heard it!
That was awesome. It took a few moments to soak in.
Lest anybody think that that was somebody who was truly across the street that was not.
Al Michaels and Joe Theisman are both Conservatives.
So is Lynn Swann.
Thanks!!
I missed that (no doubt because I FReep between plays)
I've liked Al Michaels ever since the big quake during the world series in SF a decade or so ago. I remember listening to it on the radio... and how he kept his cool and started being the journalist that he is... he was the best on-site reporter I've ever heard. While other reporters were diving under desks he kept going on the air and kept up the monologue. His personal stock went up greatly with me, at least, that day.
I have no idea what his personal politics might be... and maybe that's why he a good journalist.
