all of the restaurants around here seem to think that cole slaw should be swimming in dressing. It's more like soup than salad. Back when Tommy Wilson's Bar-b-que was out highway 281 north of San Antonio, they had good cole slaw.
They moved into town, though, and I didn't keep up.

The pickles at their salad bar are also excellent. Or at least they were, I left Montreal in 1996, but the pickles and cole slaw had been great since the 60's and it appears Joe's is still in business.

Some of the bad coleslaw recipes put horseradish in the recipe!! Can you imagine!! Yuk Good recipes have buttermilk, sour cream, sugar, etc - but NO horseradish!!
I think restaurants serving bad coleslaw should immediately be closed down!!

Why yes I do -- Buddy's Barbecue. It's a chain of locally-owned BBQ restaurants in eastern TN which seems to serve consistently good coleslaw.
The key to getting a good food thread going is to take sides on a food item that has competing regional variants -- like the sweet-red vs vinegary BBQ sauces, white vs yellow cornbread, fried vs cake donuts, etc.
With slaw, it's sweet/milky versus tart/vinegary, my preference being the sweet/milky variety.

Over half of the club do not smoke, if you were to do apoll on the people that were in the club and put all non-smokers to one side and the smokers to another side, you would have a great deal of non-smokers on one side and a handfull on the other side. But witht hat handfull of smokers, it still makes the area of the club which is closed in fullo of smoke that we have to breathe. Why don't you wait till you have finished your "Basic English Grammar for Illiterates" courses before you do another vanity post.

Why is it that really good coleslaw is so hard to find? Sit-down restaurants usually have coleslaw that stinks, but KFC has great coleslaw. Go figure.
