I feel as though they should ban smoking in all night clubs, so that people can go and enjoy themselves without having to smell like smoke after walking out of the night club or having the fear of second hand smoke later in life. Even if they do sell alcohol, set aside a place outside for the smokers to smoke. Over half of the club do not smoke, if you were to do apoll on the people that were in the club and put all non-smokers to one side and the smokers to another side, you would have a great deal of non-smokers on one side and a handfull on the other side. But witht hat handfull of smokers, it still makes the area of the club which is closed in fullo of smoke that we have to breathe. So don't just pass a law for the bars, and resturants, pass it for all places. We need to get on the ball liek California, you can't smoke there and it has not hurt their businesses. Something to think about

Of course I use Key Lime juice! It wouldn't be key lime pie otherwise.I also put lime peel in the mixture. :-)

No problem, my friend, no problem at all.
I don't like mayonaisse and so most slaws are not for me. But I don't particularly care for most cabbage dishes to begin with, so that's not surprising!

Stupid comment...nonfactual,and you don't know what you're talking about...neither on this thread, nor concerning Masons.

Oh,I see;no wonder you don't like real cole slaw. :-)

Well, I know a lot of Yankees use regular lime juice, dye it green, and cover it with meringue. That's what I thought key lime pie was when I lived in Michigan. After moving to Florida, I got spoiled on the real stuff. Now I'm in New Jersey, and I sure miss real key lime pie. Sounds like yours is pretty close. I'll be right there.

And many others share the view I posted. It's the pretty standard Christian view. Like Mormons, JW's, etc. A cult.

Secondhand smoke DOES affect the health of others even if for the short term only. Good grief, it does not, unless there is a pre-existing health issue.
Health and safety codes are in existence for the hospitality industry in order to protect the general public from things they can NOT see.
You are miing apples and oranges.

It's been fun. I cannot respond to your attacks, hatred, and namecalling any more on this thread. I've posted, clearly and concisely a valid conservative anti-smoking viewpoint. Read it and accept it or don't as you decide.
Post all the pinged replies to me you want. I'm out of this thread.

Not here, newbie. And FYI...most Protestant sects have absolutely nothing against Masonry, which is NOT a "cult"!

Can I bring my husband along? He doesn't smoke, but he's not a whiner either. He boycotts non-smoking restaurants.

I simply stated anti-smoking was not exclusive liberal -- conservatives hold anti-smoking views as well.
You said "Being against smoking in public places is a conservative value."
It is not, it is a liberal position. Conservatives can hold a liberal position on a single issue and still be Conservatives. But just because an individual Conservative takes such a position does not make it a Conservative value.
I have a variety of positions that go against the flow here. Primarily constitutional issues that would be classified as more Libertarian than Conservative, and in the case of the 1st Amendment my position could arguably be called liberal.
While I obviously think that my positions SHOULD be Conservative values I am not arrogant enough to imagine that they are just because I am a Conservative and hold them myself.
Nor do I believe that the majority of Conservatives who disagree with me on those few issues automatically qualify as "liberal lurkers" because they voice the truth about them not being traditionally Conservative positions.
I'm sure you would like your anti-smoking law position to be a Conservative value because you are a Conservative. But it isn't and saying that it is because you hold that value and say it therefore must be is what has caused the majority of the reaction.
I'm not afraid to hold a Libertarian position on a few things if I really believe it is the correct position. I don't feel the need to label it Conservative to make myself feel better about holding that position.
You should perhaps avoid attempting to label it conservative and just advocate it and logically defend it over and over again when it is opposed if you believe it. You will still get a negative reaction from other Conservatives, but at least negative reactions about content rather than form.
