Are you talking about the movies where the evil man is almost always a crazed lunatic hell bent on killing and that some woman or man in touch with his feminine side comes to the rescue?
Yeah! Those are the ones!!

However, whenever a woman chooses to become a porn star, she was obviously duped or coerced into it. I've never quite understood the double standard.
I never meant to imply that she was "duped" or "coerced" into it. Just read the CNN take on how she got into the business:
Jameson recounts how she went from being a drug-addled teenager in a slowly disintegrating family to the star attraction at a prominent Vegas strip club, where she danced for celebrities and took home several thousand in cash each night. It was there that she met Jack, a biker tattoo artist, with whom she managed to maintain a vibrantly destructive relationship for years. Jack, for his part, repaid her affections by cheating on her regularly, stealing her cash, and introducing her to crystal meth and to his uncle Preacher, a biker whom Jameson claims raped her at their first meeting. (Preacher has denied this.) Eventually she started posing for adult photographers and starring in a handful of adult films. After kicking her drug addiction, she decided to pursue the activity she knew she excelled at -- porn -- walked into the offices of Steve Orenstein at Wicked Pictures, and stated that she wanted to be the biggest porn star in the world.
I'm sorry, but nothing about that seems to indicate a rational adult making good choices, regardless of gender. Oh wait, I guess she have "decided to pursue the activity she knew she excelled at" after "kicking her drug addiction" so that makes it all better.

We ask this of our leaders (not to watch porn or exploit the opposite sex) I don't care if our leaders watch porn.
and of people watching our kids
If my kids' teacher or the employees at their daycare center occasionally watch porn in the privacy of their own home, what business is it of mine?

Well, since no one else has the guts to bring up the real culprit in this seething mass of immorality, this despicable child-endangering behavior, and this greedy corporate destruction, I will:
This is all George W. Bush's fault!

It's not any of your business. But what if they were acting in porn movies in the privacy of their own home? You might have a problem with that if your kid was in her or his care for the majority of the day.

You will objectify the opposite sex and your child will learn from this behavior however slight it is.And your proof for this is?
Talk to marital counsellors lately ? Porn is wrecking marriages all across the country. It is addictive. We have an entire generation of men who are emotionally incapable of having a real relationship with a real human woman. They would rather whack off to fantasy girls.
In the porn fantasy world there is no rejection, no disappointment, total submission to your wishes and no committments. In the porn fantasy world pretty girls are yours to command and degrade. You could "demand" that she do things you would never dare ask of a wife or girlfriend. No need to be bothered with the wants and feelings of a naked sex doll. Real life isn't like that. Real women aren't like that. Consumption of porn breeds selfishness and emotional immaturity in men.
The result is a kind of psychic adultery. Men focus their energies on a fantasy, not their real marriages. Because reality isn't yours to command but fantasy is.

Read my post.
Porn is destroying marriages all across the country.

However, at least with people in my age group (20's-30's), porn viewing is pretty co-ed.I fall into the under-35 category and I don't know anyone who watches porn with their wife/girlfriend.
And I grew up in NYC.

There are tens of millions of people in this country that watch porn--indeed, 60 Minutes even reported that more people watch porn than sports--and you're telling me that all of these people are instantly disqualified from being good role models for their children? False dichotomy. It's a good thing it is not an either/or question or we'd be bumfuzzled trying to make any moral distinctions at all.
. You can be a generally good person and have a bad habit. You might have a tendency to drink too much, for example. You might be, in many areas of your life, a good role model yet in that area a bad one.
Similarly, to the degree you watch porn, you are a bad role model for your children, because sex is meant for husband and wife to share alone. Sex outside marriage is morally wrong.
By extension, if you are a porn star, your moral character is sufficiently bad that you cannot be a generally good mother.
Though you might still be nice to animals and pay your bills on time.
Yes, America, it IS ok to think and talk in terms of good and bad morals, and to judge parents based on their MORAL character.

Engaging in sexual fantasy is something that everyone does, and it's probably even healthy to do so Somehow, I don't think the majority of sales in the porn industry come from the "Married with 2.x avg kids" crowd.
I certainly wouldn't say that a person who watches porn inherently has a lesser ability to be a good role model
Most pedophiles agree

Nope, it was Mr. Carlson.

Ron Jeremy regrets his porn stardom.
He said that he is at an age where he wishes he had a wife and kids. He doesn't because given his resume no woman is going to bring him home to Mom. And I doubt that the porn world is full of good wife material.
