I was challenged on another debate board to name 10 positive things about the USA by a couple of folks who belong to the America is the Root of Evil cult. I posted the Bill of Rights and the Preamble to the Declaration of Independance to tweek them. However I know they'll come back at me to name some specific facts.
I challenge the Freepers to help me collect 50 things I can post, with links to the data if possible, which demonstrate why this country is Number 1. I would like to post them by Labor Day if possible.

2) --Freed more imprisoned and enslaved people groups and countries than many other countries combined.
3) --More scientific discoveries than by many other countries combined.
4) --Higher standard of living for more people--and for more formerly poor people--including more immigrants, than a number of other countries combined.
5) --Higher quality and level of education for broader socioeconomic spectrum of citizens than most other countries.
6) --Greater number of medical discoveries given to the world than any other country and than many countries combined.
7) --Greater number of inventions, labor saving devices etc. than many other countries combined.
8) --More hope supplied to the world in a variety of ways and a varieity of contexts for a variety of reasons including WWII; Communism; disease and famine than any other country and than many countries combined.
9) --More food supplied to famine and war torn areas of the globe--usually free and often in the face of being assaulted, blamed and even attacked unfairly by the ones we gave food to--more by far than many other countries combined.
10) More space exploration by far than all other countries combined--certainly than all but Russia combined and far more than Russia in quantity and quality.
11) More medicines given freely to devastated areas of the globe than by many other countries combined.
12) More relative income for a far greater number, AND percentage of low income people than any other country and than a number of other countries combined. [Would like some economists to polish this one, for me]. The average income for many other countries is below that the lowest poverty person gets from the U.S. Government in many cases.
13) Greater pollution controls than many other countries.
14) Greater national park system of many national parks of greater size and quality than many other countries.
15) Gave the idea and systme of national parks to the world.
16) The liberating gift of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to more people groups than many other countries combined. This alone resulted in more hospitals and schools than any other single motivation or cause.
17) More educational materials given freely to more countries than many other countries combined.
18) More training of scientists and medical personnel within the USA for return to impoverished countries than any other country and than many other countries combined.
19) More opportunities for foreign sportsmen to star in USA sports teams--often to become super wealthy--than many other countries combined.
20) More endangered wildlife rescued and brought back from the endangered list--here and abroad due to USA efforts--than any other country and than many other countries combined.
21) More philosophical and religious freedom than many other countries combined.
22) More cultural influence on the world than many other countries combined (I feel this is a minues in many dreadful ways but it is also a positive in many ways).
23) More entertainment products, methods, systems, technologies given to the world in a wider variety of ways than any other country and than many, many countries combined. This too is a negative as well as a positive.
24) Greater number, quality and depth of responding to emergencies (such as quakes, volcanoes, floods etc.) around the world than any other country and than many countries combined.
25) Greater amount of housing space in square footage average--per person and per family--including for poorest--than any other country and than many countries combined.
26) A president that's willing to do whatever it takes to fight terrorism wherever it exists.
Jim, I'm for real. I've been a lurker here for some time. I'm considered the troll in that other group. I never signed up to post here because I prefer the fun of taking on debates in groups where I'm in the minority like in the other group.

I'm working on my own list as well. I just thought it would be fun to flood their group with as many positive points about the USA as possible. I've been a lurker here for some time, I just prefer to spend my limited online posting time in other groups where I'm the minority opinion not in the group majority.

If this person had used a women's name, you'd have 4 or 5 people calling you harsh and suggesting you apologize. Stupid vanity posts which are not informative or at least positive are troll posts until proven otherwise.
President Bush is working on getting them back where they belong on the list. They need to start teaching our history again, and not the politically-correct, savage oppressing, evil invader version.

Capitalism, which provides a job and living wage to anyone who is willing to work.
You might try detailing the Bill of Rights to point out each freedom.
Also, in addition to what I've read in the comments, I would add The American People themselves. We are basically kind, nice, intelligent, spirited, passionate and goodhearted. We give billions upon billions in aid to foreign countries. Churches feed the hungry of the world, build buildings for the people, thru construction we bring water to towns across the world that have not a single water source. Lots of good the American people do. We have doctor's that fly to foreign lands to heal the sick, fix deformities and immunize populations., and that's just the 700 Club. It's why I donate to them. Many churches do the same with the largess of the givers. Taxpayers support many such operations across the globe. We're pretty dam fine!
