It's a good hosiptal, but not the best in NYC if you're having a bypass. That's from someone who I respect that's "been there and done that" in that hosiptal's operating rooms.
I'll admit, my time in "blances" was in the 70s, but what hospital is better in NYC? I don't doubt it. 30 years is more than enough time for Columbia Pres to have been displaced as the best in any field, but I'm curious, which one are you referring to?
I didn't have direct contact with their cardiac unit, though I did transport folks to their CICU and it was one of the first and clearly one of the best at the time. My main contact with them, other than delivering patients, was with the Eye Institute, as I have a condition called Kerataconus that has led to 3 corneal transplants (none done there). The founder of that Eye Institute was a neighbor and he and the people involved in that speciality at Columbia Pres helped me through the early days of my diagnosis (I was told I was going blind) and I KNOW that they are still one of the best in the world.
Overall, CP is nothing to sneeze at, even if some institution has surpassed them in one field or another.
This is Hillary's payback time to Bill for messing around on her. He better check all his vitals as soon as he wakes up. Something might be missing, if it already isn't.
