The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hair, thanks for the ping, great pictures of ecurbh's horse. Cyn is a great name for the new addition to the ranch. ecurbh looks likes a proud new owner. Fascinating interplay there amongst the horses. As far as 'acting his age' Bay doubtless says 'Why?'

We just got home from the Heard Museum where I took the HAM test. I passed! My callsign should be assigned by Tuesday.

I'm tickled. Just signed up for Nanowrimo.

Woo-hoo! The more the merrier!

I'm really looking forward to writing this time around, since my character is similar to me but I can have her write sappy and poetic thoughts with abandon, when the real me feels ashamed of such thoughts. ;-) It'll be fun!

What's it gonna be? Further Chronicles of Doughboy? Heh...that could be highly entertaining...

Allow me to send you a vey short story about the doughman. Has some language... but is much tamer than what is currently wafting across the yard during the fireplace installation.

I've made a decision about my story! It's going to be in first person. And I think I might have a 'theme' for it, too...

Cool! I'll be checking!

Attempting my own DIY today. I'm giving up on the stoopid ring thing that I have to use for the shower curtain since I have an old clawfoot tub. I'm gonna rig something using tension rods instead, so it actually covers the wall behind the tub...we'll see if I'm any more successful than doughboy. ;-)

It'll function better, though!

Went for a walk this evening and picked up some leaves along the way.

Quick fun with the scanner...

When is what? The story? It's set in a sort of fairy-tale world, so the time doesn't matter... the society is most like late Victorian England, with some heavy modern American influences.

Yay, almost time to go watch more Esca! I've been dabbling in Neon Genesis Evangelion this weekend... weird... I don't like the protagonist at all but some of the side characters are quite interesting.

Doughboy as space pirate?? Heh...I hadn't realized it was science fiction, so that threw me for a loop for a bit! ;-)

Alien seed pods? Ick...

Yeah, that was basically what I was wondering - whether or not you'd tie in some Victorian style stuff. Sounds interesting!

*sigh* Just starting to hit me that it's almost time to go to bed, and when I get up it'll be Monday. I don't want the weekend to end!

Yes, that is why I don't really care for Eva. That wimp Shinji. I will not say more I will be tempted to give away things.

I had a good clue that I was in a dead in relationship when the girl I was dating said she like eva a whole lot and really could feel Shinji's pain.
Bah!
I cut that one loose pretty quick.
