The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Full Moon wo Sagashite. I'm going to try to copy it tomorrow. Since I'm making a copy for myself I thought I'd make one for you and one for my little sister... It has some of the best music. I downloaded the soundtrack and spent quite some time listening to the three different versions of "Eternal Snow"... nice, sappy, sentimental anime. Yippy!

Anybody home?

I'm catching the tail end of episode 1 of Lost on ABC.

Alyson's in bed and Becky's at my sister's house. *sigh* Another weekend goes by and I haven't done anything but go grocery shopping.

Join the club! ;-)

I did laundry, too. I have a very exciting life!

Sitting and watching the volcano. So far...it ranks just slightly above watching paint dry, but I still find the whole thing fascinating.

I had to make a chocolate run.

I used the fact that I'm almost outta milk as an excuse to go to the grocery...and then forgot the milk.

But I have chocolate. I can live without milk...

Chocolate is definately more important!

You know, when the volcano does go off, you won't be looking at it...

heheheh....grocery shopping ~had~ to get done because I needed milk for Alyson. Otherwise, I would have waited until next weekend. *grin*

I did get my chocolate fix too. I bought a box of devil's food cake Zingers. MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm......

Yep. I'm guessin' it'll probably go in the middle of the night a week from now, when none of us are paying attention. Volcanos are sneaky like that...

I'm still feeling a bit annoyed that I was too little to appreciate being in Portland when it went last time! ;-)

I figure I'll catch it in re-runs.

It's quiet here. Too quiet.

Where is it quiet? Are you at your apartment or babysitting backups?

My apartment. Dunno why it's quiet. Oh well. Tonight I need to do some research anyway, if I'm going to take tomorrow off for Esca. (My friends have good instincts! They're rooting for Hitomi to pick Van. Mostly cuz of the wings)

Ooooh...that sounds good!

If I wasn't basically sticking to the diet...I'd be up for some Forbidden Chocolate Explosion - Friendly's death by chocolate flavor. It would be rather fitting at the moment, doncha think?

Mmmm...chocolate...

I really like the Fruits Basket tune that has "Let's stay together" in the lyrics. Purty.

"Intense Chocolate" is a Dutch chocolate ice cream, with chocolate chunks and chocolate syrup mixed in... mmmm, it's great with Cool Whip on top (but I don't have any Cool Whip, should have gone grocery shopping...)

Yup, that's the theme song. A more or less translation is here - http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/fruitsbasket/forfruitsbasket.htm - it's not quite the same as the translation the dvd gives. I've got to get you that somehow, it's such a lovely, lovely story.
