Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Oh! Time to go. I want to be there early to see any fireworks... there was a disastrous second date this week between my coworker and a girl he met at the club and we are eagerly awaiting seeing her reaction to him tonight...

Yah... SHOUTINGMAN would be a gas right about now. He's probly over there in Iowa going into some sort of apoplectic fit.
The problem with the Mustang was an "idle bypass valve" that had apparently gone walkabout. It would start... but would not idle. It would just die the second you let up off the gas. Made it hard to shift while driving, w/o losing power steer and brake. Safety problem in traffic, that. so... had it towed in. so... $400 and 24hrs later its all happy again.

Okay....got a
new house I'm interested in. I had second thoughts about the 17.5 mile commute from the one with the neat yard and patio.
Gotta catch up now.

Evening g'nad - sounds like a great day. I've heard Bois d' Arc was a great facility. btw - it's a great name. :-)
It's pretty neat when you can help out that way and I'm sure the kids all had a blast. We'll need to introduce the young 'uns to some smokepoles at Shoot Moot.
The MDC has several around the state, we have one up here at Lake City.
LSA has been redoing some of the planting beds, Ol Red has been making regular trips fetching up topsoil and compost. Got a bunch of bulbs to plant this weekend.

Gak...remembering WHY I don't listen to NPR unless I have to. They're playing jazz until the debate time, and just said "Here's one that is a commentary on the current situation" and are now playing "Gonna wash that man right outta my hair" - pretty obvious what they meant.
No bias there. It's so blatant is more funny and sad than anything else.

Listening to the debate provides a different analysis because you aren't distracted by the candidates' facial expressions.
Just close your eyes and imagine Bush talking to a jack o-lantern and there you have it! *grin*

$400! Yikes!
I thought that baby would still be under warranty.
I'm glad you got it fixed though. Having the car stall on you is not a safe thing, especially in traffic.

It's got a bigger kitchen than the other one from the looks of it. And a lot of remodeling already taken care of, which is wonderful.
Does it have a sliding glass door for Miss Kitty? ;-)

It doesn't have a basement and there's a small concrete slab where a deck should go...no sliding glass door so kitty'll have to tough it out.
To: RMDupree
Then he'd have to get botox to fix his sweating problem so the whole mess didn't just slide off during the debate...

Maybe sometime in the near future I can put in one of those sunrooms that can be converted to a screened porch.

Well, I can't imagine he got a tan and manicure and didn't have his Botox done.
