Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Kerry gets me mad anyway. You'd have had a blast at the place I ate lunch today. We have about 20 minutes, so couldn't be choosy. Freakin' restaurant had a Vets For Kerry rally going on. Maybe 50-75 people tops. Prolly every skerry supporter in Dallas.

Sigh... but it's not that bad a job when you look at it, is it, Rosie? At least, I always have enough time to freep - most days, anyway.

Yeah, well... that's my department, really. I went to fix the IP settings on the secretary's computer and she's got this bit "Kerry" sign on her desk... sigh.
Yesterday there were competing booths. I went over and encouraged the Republicans, who managed to get a pretty decent "Four More Years" chant going. So the Dims start chanting "Five More Weeks".... mooooorons.

Well, it didn't hurt to ask!
Oh, and don't bother with the live threads over ~there~. We'll be chatting about it in here anyway.

I'm TV-less, so I need someone to take notes for me!
I may have two windows open, but I really hope people talk here in the Hole!

TV-less? How's that?
And you should at least put on the radio, chica. Most AM stations will be carrying it.
That way we can fill in the image blanks rather than have you miss the good stuff in between the juicy tidbits.

The debates would be far more interesting if SHOUTINGMAN were there! ;-)
Sorry to hear you had problems with the Mustang. What was wrong with it?

*sigh* I don't have a decent AM station around. Only one I pick up reliably (yes, that's ONE) only plays music at night.
But maybe NPR?
I can check.

BTW, I seem to be missing episode 48 of FMA - first disc has 45, 46 and 47, second has 49.

NPR will probably carry it - that's where I got the RNC.
