Here's what a background search on the company turned up--following comments are from my research partner who I asked to look into it.

From my one hour research, they appear legit to me. They look like a catalog company that converted over to more web based activities. I didn't find any formal actions against them (or their officers) at USPS who seem to be the Fed agency that go after bad catalog companies. I also couldn't find any bad things about them on google-groups, which usually has SOMEONE complaining about bad companies. Their website is registered to a company in Florida... and a Florida Corporation. (see below) No judgment liens in FL; no federal liens either.
Two Corporations... one dissolved, the other active: Fantasies In Lace, Inc., FantasiesInLace.com, Inc. They both were started by the same person (Lawrence Leibowitz). The second was taken over by Terry Richards, Vero Beach, FL. (See filing info below.)
One Fictitious Business Name Filing (dba) for "Fantasies In Lace" (see below). This appears to be a totally separate operation. Since you specifically asked about "FantasiesInLace.com", I am assuming this is unrelated. Your friends should check the names of the entities closely to validate who the money actually went to. While the catalog sounds like it was from the website group, are they sure the bank charge was to the "Inc." comany? Also, the bank should be able to reverse the charges. Some of these credit card scams are actually being performed by third parties. For example, the dba "Fantasies In Lace" could be performing a scam... at the expense of a legitimate "FantasiesInLace.com, Inc."
No trademarks filed in FL by Leibowitz, Richards... or for "Fantasies In Lace" or anything similar.
