Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Morning everyone.
Well, the TPC has issued a hurricane watch this morning for the entire east coast of FL again. Cool!
Glad I haven't taken down too many shutters.
I should have known that a hurricane named Jeanne would be wildly unpredictable. Oh well, at least she is one to remember.
I am guardedly hopeful that we here in Miami may get away with it this time, although I hate to even say such things, for fear it will make a beeline for this part of the county just for fun.

Must have just missed your post last night. David called and we all talked with him for a while. Paul came in last night because he has a job interview in Boston today (please offer up a prayer for him). It was David's 22nd birthday yesterday, and I had sent him an animated e-card through Blue Mountain; he got a chuckle out of it. He decided what he wanted for his birthday was a Papasan chair, so when I got off the phone with him I ordered one from the Lone Star Trading Company. He'll prolly get it early next week.
He gave SSQ the run down on what he's doing, but it sounds like he's getting to do some good research.

Indeed!
And if the weather holds out, it'll be a fine one! Wish everyone could see how purty it is here right now...and it'll only get better over the next few weeks.
Of course, November is uuuuugly...but I can live with that for the sake of the other eleven months.

Good morning! I'm hopeful for a easy school day today...relaxed and finishing up for a great weekend. Steve will be home by 4:30, praise God!
I got all the laundry done yesterday, dried and off the line, even! I am gonna get the house spiffed up so we go into the weekend with no silly housework to catch up on!

Fridays are very quiet here...there aren't many classes.
It's a nice intro to the weekend.

If you started it now, the first bottles would be OK to drink by Shootmoot, eh? ;-)
Sounds good to me!

Good morning!
Still wondering where Jeanne will land, but really beyond caring at this point.
I filled up the gas tank and bought diapers just in case though! ;-)

You poor thing...
Get zinc! It really does work...like those Cold-eeze cough drop thingies. They have a nasty aftertaste, but they'll kill colds vey fast!

Hopefully she weakens.
With the cold weather we have up here, it's hard to grasp that there's warm water somewhere for a storm to strengthen over. Wish we could send you some to kill her off...

See, I'm kinda philosophically opposed to Sailor Moon... but you were right about a lot of other things. Which means that if I like things you strongly recommend, you ought to like things I strongly recommend... it's my goal to get as many people as possible to watch Fullmetal Alchemist... so far everyone I've made watch it has liked it.
Er... don't like the short skirts? You can't be against the 'magical girl' genre in general because you like Full Moon. Sailormoon would still be a great show if they wore seat suits. Heck FMP has as much or more fanservice.
Well I did finally break out the Samurai 7 this week and I am really digging that. Maybe I will give FMA another try when I run low on stuff I am working on now.
To: RosieCotton
I have some of those and *ug* I can't stand them. I did take some zinc though.
