Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Coffee is good!
I tell ya...I hate driving home in the dark, but I'm still almost looking forward to the time change. Getting up when it feels like it's still night is rough!

I've set the chicken's light to come on for a while in the morning...anticipating the dark. Their days never change...the sun goes down at 10:30pm and the sun comes up at 6:15am every day!

Good morning everyone!
We've just been back looking through the posts of smoochmoot day one! ~smile~
It looks like us, it sounds like us, but it seems so long ago! Been an eventful year!
I have to be on the road today, unfortunately. Going to Portland today to train a new person down there. I have to get on the road soon, and ecurbh is making me some eggs. :~D

Ok, here's a story. A "whodathunkit" moment in Steve's life, I'm sure.
A little background...
We're poor. LOL So poor that I have been putting off buying, ahem, underwear, for so long that it was literally beginning to fall apart. (I mean, it doesn't show so it was last on the list of things to replace, you know?) Anyway, these underwears of mine had gone through even when I was expecting Joshua and was 30lbs heavier than I am now. Not to mention "The Dryer"...which was like putting them through a shredder.
So they were in pretty bad shape, to say the least.
Finally, last week...I bought a new package.
Last night, as I was putting away my clean laundry, I came upon an old pair with about an 8" slice in the back (from The Dryer). I walked down the hall and pretended that pair of undies was a puppet, and the mouth was that sliced-open hole.
I said "Goodbye Mr. Steve, I'm going in the trash!" in a voice like Mr. Bill, you know?
ROFLOL!!! Steve just put his face in his hands and shook his head (and gasped with laughter, though he tried to hide it.)
18 years of lunacy. Whodathunkit.

Bummer on the house, OT. However, I concur that a better house is out there just waiting for you to find it. We didn't get the first house we made an offer on, but, it really turned out for the best, 'cause we got this one :)
As an aside, today is our 32nd anniversary, and OB just left for a two-day conference :(

Happy some kind of anniversary, guys.
Isn't it Friday yet? It's chilly in the apartment, and I didn't get to sleep until late last night and it's a long day today... I had airport dreams all night. Wonder if my subconscious wants to go home to visit?

See ya later, aligator. School's started. Joshua's kindergarten teacher is making muffins! Steve bought some Otis Spunklemeyer muffins and the jedis are sitting in there eating those while they watch it on TV!
I'll see you when I can.
