Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
They're morons, Rosie. Don't let it get to you.
Its because they aren't conservative yet (liberal at 20, conservative at 30...)...conservative men know a goodlooking conservative woman when they see one, and they just having got there yet, is all!!
But I know what you mean. I think Im invisible to most myself at 37.
LOL! I've seen a lot of Ds over the time I've been here, I think. Tried to talk a few of them through logging in. It isn't possible.
1. Nana is being moved from the hospital to the nursing facility tomorrow. She has to stay in the hospital another day for Medicare to pay for the nursing facility.
2. Wife starts back to teaching next week, but Luke's pre-school doesn't start until the 13th. Plan had bee for Luke to stay with Nana during those three days.
3. Richmond sister who will keep Luke in the afternoons after pre-school is a) clueless, b) very self absorbed, c) both. (i.e. Nana's been in since Tuesday night, this sister hasn't been to see her, but did manage to get a sitter last night so she could go to her quilting class).
4. Sister in Greensboro has offered to let Luke come down there for next week. However, she just had gall bladder surgery and can't drive yet.
Sooo....
Tomorrow, Luke, Jr. and I will drive to my Mom's house. Sunday we'll attend the family reunion (on wife's side) and let Luke go home with that sister and her husband. He'll spend next week there.
Jr. and I will come home on Sunday.
Prayers offered up, Corin!
Good grief, that's complicated. I'm glad my family situation isn't as nutty as yours.
Hope everything ends up working out. How long will Nana be at the nursing home?
Speaking of prayers needed, I think these folks could use some:

Just makes me sick. I can't even fathom what this must have been like and the troubles they're still dealing with.
thanks
Heh...feels "normal" in our house. ;-)
I don't know how long she'll stay. Wife hasn't talked to the doctor today (that I know of). I guess it depends on how the therapy goes.
Yep...THOSE are the REAL babykillers!!!!
Later folks, I'm gonna go get the estimate on the truck.
Hardly. They're ignorant, infantile snots (I used to teach high school so I can say that with authority), and will be for at least another 10 years. They're like Beevis and Butthead... they drool over women and if they're lucky enough to "get some" it's with some female analog of their own lazy, low-rent, illiterate selves.
It's time for you to become a snob. Get haughty. You outclass them in EVERY regard. So throw your shoulders back, keep your chin up, act your station. If you do have to interact with them, keep your expression bland and a little sardonic... as though you smell something really foul and suspect one of them is responsible. Smile ocassionally, but be sure it's forced. And if you have to talk to them, treat them like five-year-olds. Nod a lot, but don't really listen and throw in a dismissive, "I'm sure that's very nice," every now and then.
I recently sat in a class at a community college full of human debris recently graduated from high school. So full of themselves, so convinced they're God's gift to mankind. I caught the "that woman" reference when some slug behind me noticed I had aced an exam that he had failed. My heart sank, at first. But then I realized how wonderful it was to not be one of them. I didn't have to compete with any of the skankily-clad bimbos for the attention of the boys. I OUTRANKED THEM ALL. The prof treated me much more courteously, because of my age. It was great.
*YOU* need to hold out for the very best and ignore the children.
Argh- it never ends, does it? Good thing the Lord doesn't give you any mor than you can handle. (He must think well of you!)
If she can afford the car she drives, she can afford a new bumper.
So, I recommend staying three or four days to get acclimated. ;)
Rounding out my Suzi-style funkle.
Far from it, quite the contrary in fact, you are an attractive and talented lady.
Very true. I was there a couple weeks before hiking much at all, and even then, started with easier ones before heading for the high passes.
And when I got back to Tucson in the fall, my cardiovascular endurance was much improved... Could ride my bike nearly twice as far before becoming winded, compared to the previous spring. (It helped my trombone breath control too!)
But the clarity of the air at those elevations, deep in wilderness area, is really something to behold. And the quiet... no sound but the wind. ~sigh~ I really want to visit again.
Well everyone, I've lost power once already and the moment it came back on, I decided to hop in here real quick to let you know I may not be back if it goes out for good.
Talk to you all soon! A feeder band is headed west towards my neighborhood (Everglades), so I want to unplug my PC in case the lightening gets heavy.
Love you guys!
