The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Good evening! Survived work, class and music night, though music night was pretty sad. We did more gabbing than playing and everyone was kinda tuckered for some reason. We quit early.

Now I'm going to rummage up something for dessert and then read more of Timeline before bed.

Talon, we didn't skeer you off, did we?

Have you narrowed things down any? Or still haven't really found anything that speaks to you?

Don't....TEMPT me, Ruthy!

I would use it for good, though...

Thanks!

Evening! Still doing a bit more work myself. Have to have something ready for a demo to the bigwigs in the AM.

Heh. They all start looking the same after a while.

I'm going back to see the house with the screened porch again. So far, it's in the lead.

I've pretty much ruled out Olathe (it's a town). The main drag looks kinda junky....like it's got a few pawnshops tucked in there.

Pawnshops could come in handy when it comes to getting much needed small appliances around the new house.

You know, like .......toasters?

Well...you know what I mean! When I walked into this house, I almost immediately knew it was "the one".

I remember I was standing and looking into one of the closets when that thought hit me.

Epiphanies come at odd places and times, I guess.

Very smart move, ruling out Olathe. I've always thought it was like the Raytown (this side of the state line). It was called Ray's town, til Ray lost his "s" (sorry, I've always liked that joke) LSA

I alreay have a toaster. And it's a jealous one....doesn't like me to use the broiler to toast those bagels that are too fat to fit in the slot.

Hehehe. There was this one house I liked in Olathe and the neighborhood was less junky-looking than some of the others. You could hear traffic noise from every house I went to (okay...so I only looked at 4 or 5) but I'd hate to have to drive Santa Fe every day.

Got both....and my aunt gave me a food processer last month. I think the toaster is starting to give the blender ideas.

Well I've always wanted a screened porch...one with a pet door so Miss Cat can go out and take the evening air without getting me up at 2 in the morning and without me worrying about her.

Time to have dinner!

I'm really enjoying this small group study, even if it makes for two long days in a row. Nice people, good material.

Oh, and it got cold today, about 3 o'clock went from 75 to, oh, 50!
