Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

*sigh* Especially in Vermont. Nothing like it in the whole world, I'm told.

Yep...bifocals. Although I think I'm gonna go ahead and get contacts and just get some reading glasses...I'm so vain...
I prolly think this thread is about me... Fortunately, the dentist can see me tomorrow a.m...which of course has nothing to do with the bifocals, but work with me here.
Unfortunately, I've got a buttload of work to do. Gonna make a quick run thru the news threads. I'll check back in at lunch.

Well...maybe bad isn't the word. But mine was certainly slower paced!

Pet makes it less scary. But still icky.
I'm guessing he found a nice warm car and was snoozing when things suddenly went terribly wrong...

I'm so vain...I prolly think this thread is about me...LOL! Ya know, I heard that song on the radio the other day, and immediately thought of you! No joke...
What that means, I'm not sure.

which of course has nothing to do with the bifocals, but work with me here. This story has a lot of characters and a wandering plotline!

And now...I gotta go work on a Mac. Heh, we don't support Macs, for which I am very glad.
Morning. Yawn.

See you later, Corin!
Today is the first day in weeks that has been slow enough for me to actually peruse the threads. Thank goodness!
All of these hurricanes have driven me nuts lately!

fall weather (in the north) made them feel "euphoric to the point of mania", which is probably a good way of describing it. It's like a drug! That is a good way to describe how it makes me feel too! I'm not sure what it is exactly about Fall... cooler weather, shorter days, changing foliage... but it is my favorite time of year. Someday, I'm gonna take Hair up the north shore of Lake Superior for the fall color. I want to see your neck of the woods too.

Couple more weeks until we get series color here...can't wait!

I'm interested in seeing what fall looks like around here!
The days are getting cooler. I wish the nights were cooling off, too, I think part of my sleeping trouble is the heat.

Almost time to dig out the flannel sheets again!

Thanks. Here's another one of my MN fall favorites. I thought the sun had gone down behind a cloud bank and started to walk away, but just then one last beam broke through a hole in the clouds and illuminated the far bank with that brilliant orange light.

40-degree mornings are starting to sound nice. Though I do like the warm sunshine, too. Good thing we have seasons, I guess!
