The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Look at the bright side, Corin. As Ruthy said the other day, maybe these frequent hurricanes will keep some of those double-dipping snowbird voters out of Florida until AFTER Election Day!

Hey everyone, I'm asking for prayers this morning for Rebecca. She is going in this morning to have 2 teeth extracted...we have a great doc working on her but I know she's a bit concerned. G'nad took her down to Springfield just now.

Thanks

Mrsnad

I had an unbelievably busy day yesterday! Theh jedis co-op. We have an hour and a half between classes at one point. I just hauled Matthew's school with us and got it done between classes.

You know, Matthew is taking softball? He got a hit yesterday! Got on to third base! All of a sudden my "computer geek" little boy really likes softball!

Some guy is yelling obscenities down my street! Humph! It's 7am! Too early for obscenities, imo, but perhaps I'm old-fashioned.

I'm prayin!

Don't forget the warm teabag compresses. They feel great and the tannins in them supposedly stop bleeding. Works every time I've had to use them.

Good morning!

Lovely, lovely day here. Gosh, I love this time of year! I was reading an article the other day by someone who said fall weather (in the north) made them feel "euphoric to the point of mania", which is probably a good way of describing it. It's like a drug!

I'm gonna need all the euphoria I kin get today, though. Long day...work and networking class and music practice.

You gonna provide a schedule for when he CAN yell obscenities?

"Obscenities prohibited, except for 43 seconds each at 10:04, 12:15 and 5:32."

Ya know, I'm soooo glad I figured out an easy way to make steel cut oatmeal. It's such good stuff, but when it takes half an hour to make, it just wasn't practical to have before work!

But now that I know all I have to do is mix together the water and oatmeal, bring to a boil (maybe boil a minute or so), and let it sit overnight...I have it all the time! Today it's with peanut butter and cinnamon, which sounds weird, but is seriesly good.

Hahaha!! Sounds good to me! Let me go out there and yell the new rules to him!

LOL

Maybe it's the teenage young man with the black chuck taylors that waves to me all the time...he's a good kid, even if his raisings might be a bit different from the way I'm raising the jedis. I like him A LOT. He strides by (you know how long-haired kids in chucks don't just walk, they stride) swinging his skateboard. He doesn't ride his skateboard on the road, I think he takes care of it that way.

I've been watching this kid ever since he waved to me the first time...learned a lot about him just by watching him. He's got a great smile and it just flashes from him!

So...tell the truth! Was it his smile that first caught your eye, or those black chucks? ;-)

Oatmeal is very good for your cholesterol level! The bran in it attaches to the bile salts and are passed from the body. The gall bladder makes more bile. Bile is made from cholesterol, thus removing cholesterol from the blood stream.

I've learned a lot about cholesterol.

Flaxseed meal does the same thing...and you know how I preach about that stuff! LOL I eat 4 tbsps a day. I prefer it to oatmeal, even though I could have oatmeal now. I have to be in the "mood".

I haven't had steel cut in a long time...have to get some next time I go to Akins.

Thanks for the prayers ladies! 2J...exactally how do you use the teabags...I've heard you talk about them but wasn't quite sure how you were using them. Tell Matthew good job on the hit yesterday. Our $$ bil got the kids each a nice bat and glove last year for Christmas and they love them. Maybe we'll play when you all come out.

It really was the chucks! LOL No kidding! But the first time he waved at me, he was sitting down behind Ron's Hamburgers and I was walking to the store...I saw him, noticed the chucks and then he started waving like crazy and smiling!

He's probably 16 years old...a lot of long-haired 16 year olds that skateboard would never be caught dead waving to a housewife...

Perhaps it was my chucks I was wearing at the time that he noticed...

LOL I'm just cracking up this morning.

Just steep them and then squeeze the tea out till still damp, not bone dry. Let them cool to comfortably warm and then place them on the extracted spot like the gauze. We changed them as needed just like the gauze.

I figure even if the stiptic quality is overblown, they still feel so good. Steve loved them when he had his teeth pulled. But I have noticed over and over that the bleeding does wane after applying a warm moist teabag.
