Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I meant Big "B" Baptist. I'm a non-denominational church-goer these days. My current church has a big dash of Pentecostal in it, which I love. And still sticks to Southern Baptist principles, which I believe.
In other words, a by-the-Book-church-with-dancing-clapping-allowed and encouraged. It's beautiful thing.

Yah... but if there ain't snakes, I ain't goin'... I mean... why bother? :-P
No spiders, though. I mean, I'm not *weird* about it.

Oh! Forgot to mention... a few weeks ago, when Rose and I went to see the movie Collateral at the theater, the theater had arranged to have live snake handlers in the lobby (for the premiere of the movie Anacondas).

No snakes, but we did have a lady fall ~in the Spirit~ during an altar call. She was wearing pants though, so no towel was needed. ;-)

Heh, I thought about trying the local Particular Baptists, but thought the dancing with clapping might be too much for a Frozen Chosen like me.

Be thou not askeered to taketh up the serpent...
Nite folks. Been a busy day.
Call backs were interesting. I wasn't asked to read the parts I thought I would be. Got thrown a whole nuther scene that we hadn't seen yet. We'll see what happens.

Spiders? No, of course not.
Spiders are for sissies. We go straight for scorpions.

How COOL is that? I like pythons, as long as they haven't grown large enough to consider me a food source. *smile*

Frozen Chosen? *laugh* Don't be silly, chica. I think you'd enjoy it, even if it was just for the experience.
Just think of the report you could bring back to the Hole! *wink*
You haven't found a church you like yet?

I think they had a cobra, and a rattler... no pythons or boas, though. We were late for the movie, so didn't really have time to look too closely!

Evenin, folks!
We went to Target to spend the last of our wedding gift cards today... picked up some DVDs: The Meaning of Life (Special Edition), Office Space, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
And got some grass seed for the back 40. And some dog food. And a saw blade. And a copy of Horse Trader (looking at horse ads for yours truly).

No, but I'll probably settle on the PCA church. They sing a lot of the old hymns.
I have been having too many new experiences lately, think I'll keep church comfy. And trust me, even we know we're the Frozen Chosen. My pastor makes jokes about it.
Actually my problem with the PCA church is probably they aren't frozen enough, or chosen enough - nothing that makes them feel Presbyterian, really.
