In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

acclivity \ah*kliv*itee\, noun:
acclivities; noun, plural
acclivitous; adjective

1. An upward slope
2. Ascending, ascent

It prompted the matron to say that she would walk a little way--as far as to the point where the acclivity from the valley began its first steep ascent to the outer world.
--Thomas Hardy, Tess of the d'Urbervilles - A Pure Woman

Etymology: Latin acclivites, from acclivis, uphill: ad-, ad- + clivus, slope; see klei- in Indo-European Roots.]

NicknamedSue likes Richard's truckling, without truculence.

My question: "Who was your slave this time last year?"

NnS: "You were."

NnB: "Well, all right, then."

WEll Hyacinth goes overboard, then in the show when she visits her slobby sister it is funnier....Hyacinth doesn't even want to sit down because everything is dirty - the unemployed brother in law will pick a chip out of the cushions of the couch and eat it! Truly gross and hilarious.......

John F. Kerry, patrician and haughty
Folks have learned of your treason (how naughty!)
All your traitorous activity
Led to Bush's acclivity
Dropped your polling from fifty to forty

I find it hard to, but as an aside, the vidictive vitriol spewed by the Democrat Pundits have served me well in my recruiting efforts. I personally have converted 5 former Democrats to the GWB ticket. I have yet to get them further than November, but I'll take that for now.

In addition, my parents have finally seen why I continually told them their votes were cast for the EVIL party. They raised me in a Dem household and they voted Dem in every election of their lives. My Dad is a strong union member that always felt his employment was better during a Dem Presidency. Needless to say, we don't discuss politics or we would end up in major arguments. With the aid of the Dem attitude recently their blinders have been removed and they admitted how wrong they have been historically. They admitted that they have continually been on the wrong side of history and they agree with me now......

Hey, anything can happen. However, when it comes to Krissy, I will watch my back!

FPL is like a dog he will always returns to his vomit.

With that said, I have been watching MSNBC for the convention too, because I've really gotten bored with Fox's talking heads except for the man, the legend, Brit Hume. The others are either pathetic liberals or Weakly Standard cons.

i am dissatisfied with Fox this week, but my vitriol for FPL lately has me afraid to look at MSNBC for fear of exploding body parts.

a coworker of mine, lib, was heard to be complaining that they have Foxnews on in the lobby here. ranting that it was agenda-driven, but was nonplussed when it was pointed out to him that CNN has an agenda and no one uttered a peep when that was played here in the lobby. my converted lib NY jewish friend, now voting for Bush, is the one that did the pointing out. i cannot talk to this particular coworker about politics. regardless that i love him to death personally. we would come to blows.

You could try to find a beach where there are dolphins.

Yelling at them might be fun, but you might hurt your throat. ... Maybe you should let LE do the talking.

She could ask about "Flipper."
