I agree...although I think that unions went a long way towards making American workers think that certain jobs were "beneath them", thus contributing to a slothful attitude...
That makes two of us, Exton1. Less than 2% of them are picking that lettuce, and that job can be done with harvesters. The rest are taking jobs away from Americans.
You ain't hearing it from me......
98% here agree. I wonder how DU would respond to this?
Kudos...Couldn't have put it more clearly. Excellent summary. I like how you have highlighted how unethical and un-American it is to have an economic master-slave system. Hope you send it to some editorial pages!!

Well, I tend to agree with you, since I know my fat ass is sitting here on FR tonight instead of cleaning up my kitchen.......

There are a lot of democrats living off social programs that could do those jobs. There's no reason why they can't. Take the democrats off the public dole, and they'll do it if they want to eat. There's no reason why they can't work.
I HIRE JUANITA TE HOUSMAIED TO DO THE POSTS THAT I NO WANT TO DO.
LIKE THIS ONE.
As a teenager 40 some odd years ago I did all those jobs "they" say Americans won't do. I picked beans, apples, cherries, tomatoes and peaches. I mowed lawns, pulled weeds, plowed fields, fed cows, pigs and horses, cleaned silos, flipped burgers, cleaned floors and toilets.
Many Americans would do those jobs today if the illegals weren't doing them for less. Sadly, there are also many spoiled rotten Americans that won't dirty their manicured hands no matter how much the pay.
You too???? hey :-)

Bump.
Not so long ago these used to be good, relatively high paid construction jobs.
Now, you see teams of non English speaking workers taking over.
This is just flat out not right.
Coming from New York, I see the Project People and I see the Mexicans. 9 times out of 10, I'd hire the latter rather than the former.
But why would you want to hire them? They'll show up and hour late with no skills, bitch about the low pay, bitch about the working conditions, bitch about how they want a real job even though they don't have the most basic skills for the job they're bitching about, bitch about the lunch break, leave an hour early, and then try to unionize the employer.
And that's JUST the construction industry.
