Is there anyone here who DOESN'T feel that way? Especially after Freeping until all hours?
Yep, but I found a really hot girl to hang out with after class who is the only other conservative in my World Politics class...
Well, she might have a boyfriend, I only just spoke with her today after having to rigorously defend Bush against 20 some odd undecided/liberals. But, if she doesn't I'll have a girl I can talk to since my best friend who is a girl is a liberal... daughter of a union manager.
How did you spend your time from October of 2001
thru June of 2004 whne you were absent or dare I
say when your were MIA from FR?
Soften it with humor and subtlety. Don't be didactic, where it is inappropriate. Don't be a bore. Just my suggestions.
At social occasions do NOT discuss politics, unless you are sure that you are talking to people who feel as you do.
Tempting, as it is, stay away from it.
Ask people about their personal activities, what did they do last weekend, about their hobbies, children, parents, jobs, anything, but politics, and don't let anyone else start talking about politics either.
You are not alone. It's very difficult dealing with idiots.
Some people can't grasp the magnitude of sacrifice it took to make this country great. As long as they have their comfortable little world, fast food, and stupid tv shows, they won't change. Don't worry, you're better than they are.
Volunteering and plain old physical work is a good way to get away from some of the nastiness.
Friends don't let friends vote for Kerry.
Don't talk about politics in public unless you're willing to risk friends and career (and grades, if you're a student). If you do, don't whine when the consequences hit you in your face. Talking politics and getting up in arms is what FR is for.
Put some ice on it.
BTW, I'm a single man, 32, student who works weekends. Do any other men find it difficult to meet women?? Single women?? I'm a decent looking guy, honest, and like to joke around. I get the feeling that most women are stuck up and angry! Am I wrong? I try to be jovial and nice and right away i'm the "enemy" cause I try talking to them. Or they're dykes. Also, how come almost every girl I see, driving or walking is on a cell phone. GOD THAT PISSES ME OFF!!!!! I'm getting ready to buy a isolated cabing a become a philosopher. Another thing, I have two brothers who are married, both are 50/50 on being happy with it,( they love their kids, but would rather not be tied down), to all you married dudes out there, is it worth it??? Or should I just give up now?
"Always remember, others may hate you- but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them, and then you destroy yourself."

Sounds like how I felt about Clinton diddling interns while I was trying to figure out why people tried to kill me during the first WTC bombing in 1993.
Understand that if you really want to help the cause, you need to convert people through kindness. Expressing your frustration is just venting energy.
#2: Keep your politics to yourself unless in friendly circumstances.
#3: Trust no one.
#4: The truth is out there.
#5: Life Sucks.
#6: Embrace the Suck.
#7: Buy a high performance car.
#8: Acquire one or more psycho girlfriends.
Wait...that's my summer.
Two weeks back was a tough one for me, I think it was all the polls and the morons supporting Kerry and his ilk. I had to turn it off, the news, the computer, the radio and go do something else. I ended up going to the beach for a day and took a visit to our local zoo one afternoon and did some strenuous work over the weekend I had been procrastinating. Helped a lot! Take a break for a couple days, let it go for a bit and do something fun, something you like.
Born and raised in Boston,Massachusetts.
Just laugh and thank God you're not one of them.
Oh THANK you.. my husband is afraid to take me anywhere these days and when people come over or we go to dinner he asks me not to bring up politics -- even though all our friends are Republicans, they aren't INFORMED Republicans!
