This is my first vanity post...bear with me...
Has anyone seen--and what do you think of--the show "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" on Spike TV? I was flipping around channels last night after watching some Olympic action. Talk about the anti-Olympics!
I must admit that I was laughing so hard I was crying, at times. This is an actual Japanese TV show that is dubbed over in English (ala "Iron Chef").
I'd like to know what you all think of it. Of course, I liked "Let's Bowl", so for what it's worth... . Maybe I'm sicker than I thought!
I might have to reconsider my tagline and substitute "two drink minimum" after seeing the Finance vs. Liquor MXC!
Kenny Blankenship: "And here we have Bob McCullen from Flint, Michigan. Bob's an on-line shop teacher who also moonlights as a pearl necklace distributor."
Vic Romano: "Right you are, Ken."
MXC is the funniest show I've seen in a very long time.
Mrs. Fierro & I dig it.
The show is a riot but it got old fast for me.

MXC ping!
Cricket Cookies

2 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 12-ounce chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup dry-roasted crickets
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture and insects, mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded measuring teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Have you seen the Log Drop event yet? That's the most brutal one by far.

I LOVE that show! I can't believe some of the stuff they've dubbed.. risque, but very very funny!
Now in it's second season. For some reason it's more of a mild amusement that laugh-out-loud funny. Maybe the novelty has worn off, maybe the jokes don't quite back the same punch, or too many repeats. Oh well.
But still a great concept.
And now it's time for Kenny Blankenship's most painful eliminations of the day.
I just discovered MXC a couple of months ago - that show slays me! I'm a Three Stooges fan, so the sheer slapstick aspect is appealing. But the voiceovers are really subtle and funny. I'd love to see the original program this uses footage from!
Best...clip...ever.
The look on Vic and Kenny's face is priceless.
Indeed. Words to live by.
I love that show! I have a bunch of episodes on tape. I visited some friends of mine in New England in June, and I brought the tape with me. They had never seen it before. They were laughing a lot. One of my friends laughed so hard in a way I had never seen before. I like the "Monsters vs. Product Mascots" episode, and the one where they test new games.
That was a classic..
