You must be good with plants to have an African violet.

Actually, I just got the african violet yesterday. I've never tried growing any before. So we will see if this one survives living with me.

What plants do you have at home?

I have a couple of philodendrons, a couple of mother-in-law tongues, a "fat plant" (I have no clue what the real name of it is, but my uncle gave it to me and that's what he called it), and a "Swedish vine" that is a start off of a start off of a start off of this vine that my Great Grandmother brought over from Sweden. I also have a euphorbia plant that my uncle gave me, but I let my dad keep it because I'm afraid I'd kill it somehow. It's a very touchy exotic plant. Maybe I can find some pictures...

When I was young and single my plants were kinda like my pets

I kind of think of my plants as pets too. I thought about getting some fish since they are the only animals I can have in my apartment, but I haven't gotten any yet.

My Gramma grows African violets well. They have to be fertilized with A.V. plant food and put them in whatever light it is that is recommended for them.

Is the "Sweedish Vine" Sweedish Ivy?

(Only picture I found.)

Plants were easier than fish since I was not home much as a young single person.

I only found one picture because I spelled it wrong - should be "Swedish Ivy". This might be a better picture...

Is this what your plant looks like?
