New York will briefly have a new restaurant, one catering strictly to the feline trade. NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - New York has always been a great food town, with cuisines from all over the world represented in its thousands of eating-places. But on August 17th, there will be a restaurant launch like no other in the city's history: the gala grand opening of the Meow Mix Café, purported to be the first ever catering to cats. Cat food maker Meow Mix is committed -- that might be the exact right word -- to welcoming a feline clientele to the cafe, which is located on Fifth Avenue, directly across the street from the main branch of the New York Public Library.

I think that as soon as Allegra gets back, we should load up her bunch, my bunch, and Bacon 'n' Hap's bunch and take the crew to the new restaurant. That'd be 13 cats. Would that constitute a herd?

I'm wondering how they're gonna keep all those cats straight in that restaurant. Surely they don't expect the cats to be leashed?

(Mingus has again opined. Like any cat, she doesn't really care what YOU think.)

I don't know - my cat complains about everything and never leaves a tip, unless that is what the wet mass of undigested hair that I frequently find next to my (always MY) side of the bed is supposed to be.

Leash or no leash, I couldn't get my cat there. She is truly antisocial (or a snob).

Dulcie will have Mountain Oysters a la Clinton and Finbar will have anything that has olives in it.
