I would be more concerned about the contents of the cans, rather than the pictures. For example, I'd increase the alcohol content in commemorative edition (not too much, but, say, to Belgian standards). And everyone would drink happily ever after...

How can they possibly leave out black musicians? I'm not surprised. The music industry was infamous for sticking it to black musicians.

Thompson said everyone has an opinion when it comes to rock, and maybe the cans were meant to generate buzz more than anything else. In other words: "Don't take it seriously. It's just about cashing in on the idiots out there."

Don't these people have anything better to do than whine.
It must be a terrible thing being a leftist when it's time to get up in the morning.
Nothing but darkness the rest fo the day.
I haven't had a beer in probably a year, but time to go out and support Miller.

And why on Earth does Syracuse (or any other) University has a professorship in "pop culture"? Singers (if the word is applicable here) are trained in musical schools and specialized depertments.

Blacks have a point on this one.
No Jimi Hendrix or Chuck Berry?? Or Robert Johnson? And Bon Jovi and Willie Nelson(who isn't rock) instead?

If one of the criteria was a 'wholesome' rocker; one that did not die of a drug overdose; or kill someone. . .spend time in prison for
whatever; because someone would generate a 'hue and cry' over the 'examplars not' issue; then perhaps, some greats were left of those cans.
A 'reverse political correctness' so to speak. . .and just perhaps.

Elvis was a true pioneer. There were earlier rockers but none who roared onto the scene like the king.I well remember his fantastic impact in 1956.
