What happened to the "Views" feature?
Owl_Eagle's Useless Vanity | Aug. 10, 2004 | Owl_Eagle

Okay, what's going on here? What happened to the "Views" feature. I know it was here before I left for lunch, and now it's gone. I really liked that thing.

Also, when I hit "Forums" there was no "Post" option on the menu and if I hadn't somehow wandered into the browse screen, I never would have been able to post this most important vanity.

Coconut Rosette

4 1/4 cups cornstarch
1 1/4 cups butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups shredded coconut

1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease or line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2 Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, vanilla and almond extracts.
3 Add the cornstarch, flour and finely grated coconut. Mix until blended and smooth.
4 Make small balls about 1inch in diameter, then roll on floured board until 7 inch long strip. Twist into a figure "8". Place cookies on the prepared baking sheets.
5 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 20 minutes. Remove form sheets and let cool. May be drizzled with melted chocolate, if desired.

Makes 36 servings

I liked that Views Feature, as well. Really gave a better handle on how active a thread was.

Mr. Rob, any thoughts?

The same thing always happens to me just before I'm zotted. Is your computer grounded?

My preferences are always for 100 replies per thread but can't get but 50 today. Went and reset it(!) in my profile and still no go. And pings to me don't show a partial comment, though that's still selected in the profile.

This is all so seriesly stuning.

Well, I just now noticed this in small print, (at the end of my comments) so maybe a "never mind" is in order:

overload: 50 results shown (prefer 100.)

So, what did happen to the "Views" feature? I liked it, too.
I think it attracted more viewers, also.

I miss the views feature, too. It not only showed which threads were most active,
but it helped me with Taglinus to find out how Freepers were actually viewing it.

If a vote is taken on the possibility of renewing Views, I vote in favor.

Perhaps it can be included as a Preference for Freepers who want to use it.

Thanks!

Mitigating a truly bad vanity, it did get the views back didn't it?  That's good news!
