okay ladies, one quick question a'fore I have to risk my life brush hawgin' the hill behind the casa...
when I was on campus last week, I noticed the sidewalks and common areas were quieter than I remember from my old kollege days... then I noticed, that well over half the kids had cellphones to their ears, and a majority of the rest had earphones in their heads... vey few groups walking together, bantering about... is that the norm these days?...
It kinda depends. If someone's leaving campus, or just arriving, that's likely the case. Going between classes you're a little more likely to see groups of people, and there are still little knots of students outside the classroom rehashing the lecture each time.
Did students "make out" on the lawn when you were in school? I've been kinda disgusted by several couples in the last few days.
Cellphones aren't as normal here, just 'cause they don't work everywhere. But yeah, LOTS of kids have 'em.
But still lots of groups wandering around talking / yelling. Seems like walking OVER to someone to talk is a foreign concept to a lot of 'em. Gotta yell halfway across campus...

One for which I prepared a document the other day and gave it to the boss with a cover note that said "I know this will change after Thursday's meeting, but I wanted to give you a head's up."
I got it back yesterday with a note that said "Corin, this will change after Thursday's meeting..."
***rolls eyes***
Then I've got a bored meeting with a bunch of RATS this afternoon. In honor of the President's acceptance speech, my tie has red, white and blue elephants...

Wishing I could have a dose of what we gave the badgers. :) I could do with a couple hrs out of my misery. Ah well, it's almost the weekend and I have unpacking to do.

Sigh... long way to the weekend from here, plus I have to come in and run backups every day this weekend. Forget about doing anything fun for Labor Day, I guess.
Was working on a badger anesthesia project, so lots of various knockout drugs.
Hmmm... ok... ever noticed that badgers are inherently funny animals? You can say almost anything and including the word "badger" makes it funny. I'm sure this fits into my Theory of Bob somehow... (Theory of Bob says naming anything Bob makes it both silly and culturally relevant at the same time. To back up my theory, a town not too far away from me, in CO, decided to name a nwely-constructed brdige "Bob".)
