Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Hey there!
My advice?
1. Drink to ease the sting from a really bad day.
2. When you have a really good day, have a celebratory drink.
3. If the day was just somewhere in the middle, have a drink to cure the blahs.

I prefer not to drink alone. That's why I like bars.
I'm not so sure it's to ease the sting of a bad day, but more to dull the sense of regret for not killing somebody that honestly deserved it. :-)

Well. The Trivial Prayer Request List seems to have worked again; I had a really good day. Let's see what tomorrow hold, but I was given a remind of why I'm trying to do what I'm trying to do, and a couple of little "You can do this!" booster shots.

Dwarves don't usually come out on the winning end of Elf/Dwarf disputes, you know. Um...with dwarves it's always about the winning end...

I'll admit to not following the thread closely all the time, so I may have missed it. But..
What is Wneighbor up to these days?

That is uncanny! 2 Seconds apart!
Lord what a day. I am absolutely wore out. First days are just that way, I guess...getting back into the swing of things. We started at 8am and worked nearly steady till 4:30pm! Then Steve came home and took the jedis to a baseball game so I could grade today's work and prepare for tomorrow.
After I got everything done, I went to make myself a well-deserved bowl of popcorn and wouldn't ya know it...we were out. Not one single kernal.
So I just put on my chucks and walked to the corner store! (The truck has a flat tire.)
On the way there, a teenage young man behind Ron's Hamburgers with long blonde hair, high-top black chucks and a skate board waved at me cheerily. I thought that was nice...made my day!
