Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Mornin' folks.
Slept in, been runnin' the regular computer utilities. Gonna head to the ~attic~.
And yes, ksen needs to check in. I sent him my cell number, but neglected to get his...doh!
Charley is hitting SC coast right now. Looks like SC and NC will get the worst. The major concerns are ~as with hurricane Floyd~ flooding.
Rainy here. Not sure 'zactly what we'll get.
Hope it's not too bad... it's sunny here.
Oh, the ~attic~....
Amazing what an exo-skeleton can do for ya'. BTW, am I the only one who's ever wondered why Steve Austin's arm and legs didn't rip loose from the rest of his body?
ROFLMAO
Are you sure you wanna do that?
Okay, computer geek question time.
For some time now, everytime I try to shut down XP or log off and go to another user, I get a message that "rundll32.exe" is not responding and have to do the "end program now" option.
This doesn't happen when I switch users, just when we sign off or shut down. Microsoft says it's needed to run the dll files. Am I missing something that makes it work? Is it a big deal?
Inquring non-geeky minds want to know.
Thanks.
I wish the attic had never come to me,
I wish none of this had happened.
Kevin's fine, no damage.... I called him.
He said that at his distance from the eye, it wasn't that bad. They had sustained winds of only 30-40 in Melbourne.
He'll be online in a little while.
Thanks.
Still 30-40 mph winds blowin' up a Gondorian's skirt is vey series...
Well, here in tall tree country, sustained 30-40 mph winds are deadly winds. I'm in a whole 'nother league of storm tolerance than you are, and glad we don't get them often like you do!
I got about 16 vey tall oaks that don't get to happy with winds like that. Specially as wet as it's been.
At least you'd have the sense to get out of your cardboard house if there was a Category 4 storm comin' your way.
I, uh..., I... have things to do...
I've put this off for far too long
I regret to announce, this is the end.
I'm going to the ~attic ~ now - I bid you all a very fond farewell.
Especially when the skivvy factor is figured in.
Would I? And where would I take the horses? Seriously.... I couldn't live with outdoor pets and annual frequent threat of deadly weather... nor sink my energy into outdoor spaces only to have it all destroyed by frequent storms. We have an occasional winter storms, but nothing like hurricane season in the middle of summer.
SO what color are you going to paint Junior's room this time?
Guess you'd have to have a pasture that was away from tall trees and on high ground.
After Fran my supervisor (a horse person) took her horse trailer down east to help rescue stranded horses.
Doh!
It wasn't Fran, it was Floyd. Dang those "F" storms!
Flying RC planes doesn't get to be real challenging until the winds hit 30-40mph.
Well, leaving them to stand ~out~ in it doesn't sound all that attractive. I'm thankful for my lack of hurricane risk!
Especially since 30-40 is about all the faster they go.... just moving forward would be a challenge.
