The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Looks like May-Jun is going to be the popular choice.

I gotta find about your gun law and such g'nad.... so that I could bring my own guns. Could bring my .357, my .22 semiauto for easy plinking, and my little airweight .38. ;~D

Well, we would be flying... I'll have time to check into it, and see if I want to risk all my valuables that way.

Heh.... when I get there, I'll just hold them out the window of the car, how's that?

*shudder*.. my recommendation, is to start drinking heavily...

That might have helped my mood while there. Now I'm fairly recovered. But I ask you, why on earth can't I register my car at the DMV? Instead I have to go find the courthouse... sigh...

Did you see on TORN how Sean Astin gave an impassioned, eloquent, wonderful speech at a JOHN KERRY rally?

Gag me. Another clueless idiot. Moron.

Eep, no. That's sad. I'm going to pretend that LotR was made by digital creations rather than actors.

I've never identified an actor's politics with the roles he plays, though. I hate Tom Cruise's politics but I think "Last Samurai" is the best movie I've seen this year. If I boycotted any movie with an actor I disagree with... well, I'd save a lot of money, that's for one!

Difference between Sean and the other opinionated entertainers is that Sean Astin would like to actually run for office one day.

He's young.... Ronald Reagan was once a liberal also. He may mature.

<< I'm going to pretend that LotR was made by digital creations rather than actors. >>

That may be best.

Best movie? Haven't seen Spider Man 2 yet, eh?

Yeah; as I've often said, my wife makes it a POLICY to know as little about actors personally as she can. It's virtually always disappointing, at best.

So I filter a lot.

And don't tell her hardly ANYTHING about ANY of the LOTR actors. Except JRD.

I have a job that starts Monday, temp-to-hire, help desk/customer service call center type thing out in a little podunk town about 30 miles west (Elma).

Not exactly looking forward to the end of a 10-month "vacation", but need the money.

Hopefully the freelance web design gigs will keep coming in so's I can work from home eventually (and make better money to boot). But this will do at least for now.

I did see Spider-Man 2, but I've never been a huge Spidey fan and Tobey Maguire just is a bit too wimpy for my likes, plus I have never seen a movie whose ending more blatantly screams: "The next installment arrives August 2005!"

But it was a good film! I'll even rent it and see it again sometime.

Ooh, hope it goes well.

I start my assistantship post Monday, too. Originally I was going to go in around 9, but they emailed me and said, "we're upgrading a server that evening, can you work 2 to 7:30 instead?" Of course I said yes, I want to make a good first impression; it means I have to drive rather than take the bus, though.

Haven't seen it yet. I don't really like seeing movies alone and I don't know anybody in town yet - actually, keep me in your prayers that I find the right church, please. I have a couple that I'm going to try but right now I'm missing my home-church desperately.

I might break down and see a matinee this weekend, if I have nothing better to do.
