Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Right now I'm leaning towards New England....less vegetable chopping involved.

Yep, we dodged the bullet on this one in S Florida, although it looks as if it could cause problems in central VA.

How was the concert? We saw Dylan and his "Rolling Thunder Revue" back in 1976. He was with Joan Baez and Kinky Friedman. It was a fun night!

Eek! :)

Watch it now, I wear Birkies! I even wear socks with them in the Fall and Winter cause my feets get cold! WooHoo! I'm sure I'd be the bane of most other Birkie wearers' existence though, and I'm dang proud of that! Whoohoo, me, too! Wool-socks-n-Birkenstocks for me. Wore'm to the office today. I've even backpacked in them.
(really, though, they've got excellent support for my feet. Dang fine shoe.)

We only had clouds and a bit of rain yesterday. It has been gorgeous here today. We went out at 8:30 this morning and put the kayaks in out in the Gulf. SSQ and his sibs were having lots of fun. I finally was able to sit out in some serious sun, so I got a bit of a tan. Didn't want to go back to MA all pasty white like I left!
Went out to a local Mexican place for lunch, then came back and took a nap! Fixing to go back outside now that the sun is fading and it's not so hot.

I'm fine, 2J. We didn't get anything from Bonnie, and Charley is too far South. Ksen is the one who's in range of Charley. He's south and east of the storm; worst side of it. But I think it's slowed down somewhat and won't be a Category 4 when it goes through Orlando. The danger now is from the tornadoes spawned by the storm.
