The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Another army chopper just flew over the house. And I saw one of those HUGH grey planes, those military cargo planes you know? Great big thing...flew over today too. Only seen that maybe one time before.

Only thing I haven't seen now is those double bladed helicopters...chinooks? Haven't seen one yet.

I think he's auditioning for the role of the young Clark Kent in the next Superman movie.

Man, what a dweeb!

He hasn't looked good since he got out of hobbit costume... I know he does it on purpose, usually wearing an orange tie with a brown jacket and green shirt. Dom and Billy are usually intentionally badly dressed too, which is why I pinged Alkhin for a diagnosis on why some pretty people go out of their way to look bad.

Does he put on shoulder pads when he turns into Superman?

Probably needs a lot of pads for that role...

"There was plot in that show??"

Um--well, I think there was one special two-part episode that had a plot. Otherwise, no :)

Evenin' Hobbit Hole!

Feelin' a bit sick to my stomach tonight for some reason. If I don't get to feelin' better soon, I'll have to fix some chamomile tea. Maybe it's just nerves. *shrugs*

My trip was most productive. Not only did I get some neat stuff from the comic-book store, but I also verified a rumor I'd heard that Green Bay has another, regular-sized Barnes & Noble, which *does* have a manga section :) So today I picked up:

Essential Avengers #4, reprinting Avengers #69-97, which includes art by John Buscema and Neal Adams and the Kree-Skrull War arc

Teen Titans: A Kid's Game by Geoff John, Mike McKone, and Tom Grummett

The new Dark Horse Conan #1-2

Rurouni Kenshin #3 (they didn't have #1-2; they also had #4-6 which I plan to return to pick up later)

The Neal Adams Sketch Book

How to Draw Manga: Pen & Tone Techniques

How to Draw Manga #17

And then I watched the Packers practice. Almost got a scalped ticket for the Monday Night game vs. Seattle but it was $50 and I'd just spent all my cash.

Hey, Ruthy! Sorry to hear your stomach's upset :( I usually take chamomile tea for that, too.

Hi there, Fedora.

I'm not usually susceptible to stomach ailments. Even both of my pregnancies were relatively queasy-free.

It's more annoying than anything. :-)

Ginger works too. How 'bout some chamomille with ginger root?

Sounds like good stuff... will be interested to read what you think about the Teen Titans story.

Good evening!

Tension Tamer has that, chamomile, and eleuthero, which seems to work pretty good for me usually.

I'm about 2/3 done with it. It's pretty good! I wasn't familiar with the new generation of Titans and I liked how they updated the team that way, as well as how they brought in Terminator's protege.
