The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I dunno about that, Corin. It looks like the storm might chase out completely out of the state anyway.

And there are no HHDers in Georgia...

Should I pick up ksen on the way to your house? *smile*

I wouldn't miss it for the world, 2J!

That would be like missing a family reunion!

I didn't vote on a date...just about any time is good for us...actually, anytime IS good for us. Steve has 3 weeks of vacation saved up. He can take vacation any time he wants.

School. That might be a problem for him...but I bet we can work around it.

Apparently they don't do hurricanes in Colorado for some reason, either.

Good morning! I cannot get too happy with this "laze around until 9:30 and make a dash for work" thing. As soon as school starts I'm sure I'll have to be up earlier than that again.

I'd like that. I have or can get music to a LOT of songs...we should put together a list come spring, maybe!

Be prayin' that we can come. With this coming close on the heels of Ben's wedding, I'm wondering if it's gonna happen for us. But I'd love it if at least SOME of us could come. Hopefully Stephen, too...you guy'd like him. He's a great kid. And then we'd have a guitarist...

'Bout time you were up! ;-)

Oh, by the way...band discussion last night went well, considering we were missing people. We kinda decided where we want to go, and that we want to change what we're doing / add some new kinds of music that Bilbo isn't that interested in, and think of him as a "guest star" when he IS able to play with us, rather than getting ticked off when he's not available. It was very positive.

And I got to play guitar, which I haven't done in awhile. I'm not much of a rhythm guitarist, but I adore fingerpicking...which I'd have to show to explain, I guess. I'd forgotten how fun that is.

Excellent! See, the Trivial Prayer List works again! Sounds like things are looking up. Now you can get some paying gigs!

I was up a little late last night. There wasn't any real reason for me not to be, after all. I'll have to do laundry this afternoon when I get home... I should decide on dinner before I leave. Stir fry again? Gonna need to go to the store tomorrow for more vegetables...

We're going to do more self-promotion than we've done up until now, too. Maybe put together a simple website with sound samples (we have to figure out hosting, but have the skills to do something basic once that's determined), and put together a sheet with photos and a contact number and such.

And we're maybe gonna start doing vocals. Scary.

Well, I wish you'd find the music to Lonesome Dove!! I can't find it anywhere!

Even if we don't play it at ShootMoot, I'd like to have it just for myself!

Oh, and chili is my other standby meal...peppers, onions, tomato sauce, hamburger and spices. Quick and easy. I add beans, but you wouldn't have to if you don't like 'em.
