My tab key function changed on its own

All of a sudden I can't tab through the fields on an online form. Instead when I hit the tab key, it toggles between windows.
Does anyone know how I can switch it back so that it takes me to the next field rather than switches to another window? It's driving me NUTS!

Sounds like your ALT key is stuck; but that doesn't explain why you were still able to type a post.

Use the mouse to move between fields, and THEN try the TAB. Sometimes, it's as simple a thing.
If it's still doing it, goto Control Panel, and look at your keyboard settings.

Click on an entry field inside one of the windows and see if it will then cycle through the tab fields.

I've had that happen before in the Win9x OSes... I don't know what happens. It's not necessarily an actual button on the keyboard physically stuck... What's happened to me it just ACTS like a key is stuck. I don't remember if there's another solution, but rebooting should work. If rebootind does not work, it's probably an actual button on the keyboard sticking.

Sounds like your "alt-key" is stuck. This can be a physical stickage (i.e. soda pop or donut gunk) or software related like Microsoft sticky keys being enabled. If no keyboard gunk, check out your "Accessibility" options under the control panel.
