Poor DUers. They are so afraid of opposing viewpoints that they have turned off registration at their website!

Thanks, Lurk. After I found a clothespin to put on my nose, I went over to check mine. Lucky for me I registered in November 2002. It's still good.

Weird.
FR has never disabled registration as far as I am aware of.
The only time it might be down on FR that I am aware of is when the base software the runs the forum is being upgraded/switched/updated.

They want to be allwed (aloud?) to say what they want and do what they want without fear of being wrong and or being called out for it.
Wonder if they'll keep registration off until after the elections, like they did for a bit around the last round of elections?

Once again...Free Speech does not give anyone the right to say anything in a private forum.

It's wrong to cry about Free Speech when they do this, just as we are constantly pointing out that their cries of "Free Speech" have nothing to do with personal rights.

An indication of the relative irrelevance of DU is this: The night of the Kerry speech we had more than 5,000 posts here on FR of people who were watching and interested in the goings-on in Boston. Meanwhile, over on DU where they should have had a more active interest in this subject than us, they had about 390, mostly illiterate, posts on their website.

There really isn't a good reason to spend time either worrying about or participating in their nonsense.
