In the last few minutes, when attempting to access the web via Netscape with Free Republic designated as my home page, it freezes.
I changed my homepage to another site and I had no problems.
I accessed the internet via Internet Explorer with FR as my homepage and no problem.
Is this a Netscape or FR problem?
My cache files are cleared and I do not have a problem with other sites.
No problems here. I've been using Netscape all day without a hitch.
What version? If you're not using AOL, have you thought of switching to Mozilla (same thing, but without the AOL stuff) or Firefox (same basic codebase, but more advanced)?
Switch to Opera.
I use Mozilla, and it loads much faster than Netscape or IE. Both are based on Mozilla.

I'm having problems but I can't tell you.
I'm using Netscape - no problemo.
Are you logged on?
I have not been able to access FR from Netscape in weeks.
Had to do it, didn't you? lol
Do you have a couple of
javascript-of-unknown-origin.netscape.com:nnnn ESTABLISHED
entries?
I used to use it. Never had serious problems but it was balky and slow, and the graphics and fonts looked like $#*$(@*. Ever since I made the switch to Mozilla things are better.
I use Netscape 7.1 with absolutely no problem.
yes no
I am not using AOL as I refuse to download that, and I use Netscape 7.01. This happened about a week ago and after a few hours, the problem seemed to be corrected. I also use dial-up, 56k, and SBC for my ISP which seems to work pretty good.
Sorry.
Does Internet Explorer work?
In any case, it would be a good time for you to upgrade. Netscape is Mozilla with AOL add-ons thrown in, so you'd probably be comfortable with Mozilla. Do you use Netscape for browing only or email too?
BTW, Netscape 7.0.1 is equal to Mozilla 1.0.2, and Mozilla is on version 1.7 now. There's a lot of new, cool stuff, better stability, faster rendering, faster launching, better standards compliance and a smaller memory footprint.
"browsing"
Yes, IE works just fine. And Netscape is working fine again.
