Love the little guy. Cats are amazing animals and wonderful companions. I lost mine this week after 16 years. I really miss her.
I have six cats. My husband calls me the cat woman. If there are any cat questions I can't answer, I know whom to ask. fire away.
I keep my cats indoors, they are all neutered or spayed, and declawed. It was either declaw them or not take them in. Since five of them were strays, declawing them seems to be the nicest way. Otherwise I couldn't have kept them. They are all loyal and each one has its own special personality. Kirby is all white and about 9 years old. Ollie is a blotched tabby and about 9. Stinky is bronze Egyptian Mau and is about 7. Jasmine is Siamese and about 5. Squirt is gray and white and about 5. Sammy is a kitty we adopted in 2002 in LA, he was found in a garage and was about 1 1/2 weeks old. He is all black and is now about 18 lbs. Fed him a bottle his first few weeks. ...he thinks I am his real mother.
I'm sorry about your loss.
Go get a kitten. I'm a dog guy myself, but cats are good too, and kittens are even better.
I'm so very sorry. I lost my beloved cat, as well, so I can sympathise. It's been really rough. My cat was only seven, but she was nearly human, LOL, and I appreciated the exceptional cat that I had and sought the best veterinary care for her, which offered alternative, as well as traditional, medicine, but I still lost her, despite everything. I would have done anything. I was given this website by my vet's office. One of the girls who works there had also lost a cat and had found comfort here. I still can't deal with it well, but it may help you. This site was begun for the brave rescue dogs who were lost in the effort to find those who were lost in the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedy, but now all are welcome. It is a very special place, but I just can't deal with it yet. I am passing this on, just in case it might help you.
