Thanks for the Zia pics. I enjoyed them. She is growing fast.

You are quite welcome, and she surely is. When does the sleeping-16-hours-a-day phase start again? :-)

I have a Jack and a Half-Jack (1/2 Dachshund). Back when I just had the Jack and one cat, I was advised not to leave them alone, so I keep a baby gate up so the cats have 1/2 the house if the dogs are in. The kind you can walk through makes it easy to live with. I only let the dogs inside when I'm home, even with the gate up.

My full Jack Russell never gives much notice to the cats, but the Jackshund practcally goes on point when kitties are near, he's *way* too interested in them. The cats know to hightail it over the baby gate when the dogs come in to visit in the den.

Is she spayed yet? The sleeping starts soon after the spaying.

I'd be more concerned if I had two or more dogs - I've known cats who've been killed when pack behavior kicks in. As it stands, though, there are many places the kitten can go where the JRT can't, and the JRT really doesn't like wrestling - she like to chase and be chased. She's actually shown protective behavior towards the kitten, in fact.

I am keeping a eagle eye on them, I promise.

Spaying is scheduled for 9/15. Zia will NOT miss this appointment.

Thanks - she is a real sweetie (when she's not a hellion ;-) ). I'm very glad to have been acquired by her.

Nothing new on Aimee beyond what's on her thread; if I don't get pics in a week or two I'll send her new family an e-mail.

What a hoot! I've had outdoor cats in the past, along with a pet door. No more. Nothing like getting up in the middle of the night and stepping on a dead bird in the hallway. Erk. And then, there were the mouse chase, when the intended victim was still alive, and got away from the cat. Oh my. I don't do that any more. The cats stay in the house.

Ah, yes - the adoption video for Satan's cat. Deworming Zia is adventure enough.

I had a stray cat adopt my family. It came in out of the cold on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I had a small part Scotty and they got along famously. The darn cat even took a liking to my one weakness---popsicles! It would jump on the couch, look over my shoulder and purr loudly until fed some. She stayed around for 19 years!

Good Luck. Do have it Spayed!

You need to get in on the Flo Control Project. Ain't science grand?

You will be absolutely amazed at how quickly she will heal after being spayed. She won't be slowed down for long at all. The 23-hour-a-day sleeping doesn't start for a while yet.

Mine likes tea - like she needs a caffeine boost!

Thank you, and bank on it.
