~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XIV~
July 23, 2004 | bentfeather and Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hi snippy,

Well for once we have sun today and it's quite hot out. More like August in NY. Really lovely, nice breeze in the air. I was in the back yard for a bit this afternoon, just sitting and looking around for the muse to visit me.

Alas she stopped by to land on my shoulder and flitted away like the tease she is. :-)

I am thinking maybe this coming winter snippy will be writing again. :-)

It's August in Oregon too. Looking forward to the cooler weather Oregon is known for.

I think you're right, perhaps this winter my muse will sit and stay a spell. ;-)

Our friendship will stand the test
through life's rocky roads
broken hearts and shattered souls.

No one said love is smooth
we believed it was cause we wanted to

but, for loving souls
like diamonds rare
we join together in this place
of sweet repose
and offer solace to our souls.

Without you being here for me
the golden years would but be
tinkling brass
and loneliness
without succor without rest

Good nite poets

May the sweet aroma of Lily of the Valley
fill your dreams
caress your face
tenderly lull you to sleep
in the safety of knowing love...

~ Dream a Little ~ Love a Lot ~

I remember the color your hair was...
the color of spiced rum
With memories of you
walking without me
in gentle oriental rain
Left me with dreams
of being lost in your embrace.
The peace in your eyes
shone through
I was lost, lost
in your eyes
..........lost
in your embrace...
Dreams of you at Indian Twilight...

Meatloaf

My mother made a meatloaf
but I think she made it wrong.
It could be that she cooked it
just a little bit too long.

She pulled it from the oven;
and we all began to choke.
The meatloaf was on fire
and the kitchen filled with smoke.

The smoke detectors squealed
at all the flaming meatloaf haze.
My father used his drink
to try extinguishing the blaze.

Mom shrieked and dropped the meatloaf;
it exploded with a boom,
and splattered blackened globs on
every surface in the room.

The dog passed out. The kitten hid.
My brother screamed and fled.
The baby ate a piece of meatloaf
sticking to her head.

My father started yelling
and my sister went berserk.
But I kept cool and said, "at least
our smoke detectors work."

Listening to Lost in Your Eyes, good tune.

Thanks for Breaksfast, tunes and poetry.

Have a great day me friend. Cloudy here and looks very much like another day of rain. You still hot in Oregon?
