[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

We're preparing to cut staff here and that means folks are plenty nervous.

Believe me I know the feeling. Hard to believe the economy is "improving" when you keep hearing from people you know that have lost, are going to lose or are worried about losing their jobs.

Oregon has really had a bad economy for a while. Mostly due to local political anti-business attitudes.

Castledom's knights
shining bright
gleaming silver in the night

Trumpet's blare howling there

down stone hallways
chilling the air
night-hounds bay
under starry nights
the chill of lost love
rides the winds round
turrets high
and lonely maidens left to
wonder why
there is no love anywhere...

Life is treating me good but I'm quite busy and don't have as much time to freep as in the past. :-(

His errartry takes him
to many wide lands,
the winds are steady, blowing cool,
the howls are distant
but the Knight's no fool,

For the baying can hasten,
and nearer draw,
but he takes comfort, looking up,
as in the night, he saw

the lights fomr the tower,
standing out against the stars,
He knows that waiting there,
a lonely lady fair,
will keep those lights
as a promise long kept,
to guide him back
at journey's end.

How can one fail,
knowing home is safe behind him?

Oh errant knight returns
from flight of dueling demons
and dragons green
Fields beaten bloody and browned
in August's olding sun

Holding forth the cup of mirth
having giving birth
to new tales of valor
trial and error
return thee now in midnight's hour
and kiss the hand of the power
and lay lavender near her feet
and sing your song of near defeat

Hasten thee to thine own chamber
listen for the longing hour
fair lass and golden locks in rings
listen for the cock to crow
before it's your time to go
a wandering in yon forests green
careful on thy mighty steed
ride without any greed
and let the wood cock beg and plead
for the lonely night to cede

I shall ride toward that tower,
tie my steed, and walk the bower
of rose, and lavendar, sprays about me,
contemplating my days without thee,

looking forward to your charms
and losing the world within your arms,

your eyes, your face, your gentle grace,
lavendar lace which frames
your rosepetal'ed heart.

Reminisce with me days
of Knights and tales of The Golden Fleece
dragons bold guarding jewels and
lavender and lace in halls
of gold

Bowls of rosewater
court jesters and fools
fields of heather
walks on sunny afternoons
in elegant gardens dressed in velvet robes
tell me of the love we knew once upon a time
'tis true
When in the days of old a lass
could be told wait for me My Lady Fair
I'll sprinkle Lilacs in your hair
caress you face with a feathers grace
and promise you the stars.

And the day, such the day, I stood at your side,
sabre drawn, keen and bright, standing 'gainst the tide,
foes breaking before me, as waves upon the shore,
contest of arms, test of wills, the crucibles of war,

None shall pass my whirling steel! I cried unto the foe,
Stay behind me, to My Lady, whilst I make these evils go
to places far and dark, forlorn, defeat shall be their feast,
where not even sweet melody can soothe the savage beast!

Until at last, the field clear, I stood with vict'ry mine,
my knees locked hard, my shoulders straight, my eyes shone clear and fine,
my armor soiled with sweat and dust, awash in gore and grime
but cared you not at all, that day,
for to my arms you flew,
and you knighted me with highest praise,
the title, "I Love You."
