I would assume that most of you are wondering what was in the lost documents.
Obviously, to motivate someone at this level to take a chance like this, it must have been something pretty damaging to the former administration.
But does anyone have any ideas as to what?
Perhaps the Bin Laden offer or the general lack of concern or inability to do anything that might backfire...
But what else could it be?
Probably related to the Gorelick "wall" that she erected.
The possibility that copies of these documents landed in the hands of John Kerrys nameless foreign friends seems plausible to me.
I'm very circumspect that this will be of any real help to the Bush campaign or the WOT. The democrats, ie media, is well-oiled, and has already spun this into a VWRC stunt. It truly saddens me that such a large portion of America is so ignorant of the reality of jihad.
Nothing except that the clinton administration was warned about Bin Laden 17 months before 911, put it on the far back burner, and "forgot" to tell Bush about it.
I believe there was also a discussion of clinton's refusal to take a shot at AQ unless success was guaranteed.
Howie Carr, Boston's radio host, is talking about this now. I think his show is streamed.

Yep, even that political whore David Gergen is spinning that the "timing of the leak" is more important than the crime itself. No political advantage for us here, because the media will suffocate the story or grotesquely turn it into a Bushbash.
I think Berger was trying to hide documents that vindicated Bush. Would not be too surprised if he planted some that hurt him as well. He's taking lessons from the Watergate burglars. They will do anything to put Kerry in the White House in January.
And you can bet that when the truth comes out they won't let him be forced out of office like Nixon, either.
it was pictures of bill ,hillary and Bin ladin at one of those coffee klatchs they had bin ladin gave bill campaign cash
Maybe not as bad as destroying the only copy of a document, but still illegal and improper, and still causing top secret stuff to float around where it doesn't belong.
IF he really did all this by "accident" it still means that he is an idiot who can't be trusted with the nation's business - in other words, by definition a top Clinton/ Kerry adviser.
Even as crooks they can't get it right. They had plenty of time to destroy evidence when they were in charge, to have to sneak around and do it on someone's else's watch means it was something at the time they considered unimportant. Must be some smoking gun that shows they didn't care about terrorism.
From my perspective, the entire demonrat party and media machine has known about this for, at least, weeks. That is why the story is starting on the back-burner. It doesn't look to me like it will go anyhwere.
Heck, even blatant lying about the Presidents war intentions and national security by Joe Wilson is considered non-news, compared to using the phrase "girly-men" as a joke in a purely political context.
I usually feel that way......... but NOT this time. This is too big, IMO.
But what I found funny (and nearly everything is funny or tragic these days)......when the Dems. announced Berger's leaving the Kerry scene they used the phrase "stepping aside" instead of "stepping down". I think that's funny!
Berger was being blackmailed by the Clintons is my guess as to why his sorry a** scooped all the documents.
By the way, wouldn't his thefts be on film????????
I think Berger was trying to hide documents that implicated the Clinton Administration having knowledge about Al Quaeda and the possible 911 attacks. Clinton did nothing about it and it could seriously damage his reputation. My horror is that it was specific knowledge that could have prevented the deaths of 3000 of our citizens. If something like that was revealed, even the Democrats would run the Clintons out of town.
