Yep. The idea was an interesting one...but they coulda done it without all that. I still thought it was good, but...

There are soooo few modern movies we can sit down and watch as a family. It's sad. We watched a LOT of good older ones growing up, but it'd be nice if people still made films like that. There are plenty of things you can leave to the imagination rather than showing them outright.

Seems like they have to keep pushing the envelope, don't they? I'm sorry for that. Movie-making techniques are getting better, but the stories are getting worse. You'd think LotR would show them that you don't need sex and vulgarity to sell tickets. Violence, of course, is still required. ;-)
