Hello! Thundering here, too, but it's not super close at the moment. I'm kinda hoping it pours, both because the garden would like it and because it might cool things down. It's 80 with rather high humidity. I don't do this kinda weather! Especially not at night. It musta been in the seventies last night, or in any case it never cooled down much. Ugh.
The gig went pretty well, IMO! We weren't very loud, though. We really need to get a little portable PA system or some such like if we're going to continue playing out much.
I'm glad to hear the gig went well! Was it just the three of you?
It's pouring here. I feel sick again, so I'm in bed resting. I still have a couple episodes of FMA to watch, yay! Yours should arrive tomorrow, probably...
*comfort*
We got on the road at about 0700, arrived at Marshall, MO around 0915... upon our arrival we quickly located Master Osage... He greeted us with smiles and hugs... he then presented theboy with a wonderful hand-crafted (by him) Hickory bow, with a snake skin covering...
The jamboree was great fun... with many skilled craftsmen plying their trade and wares... we particularly liked the fur hats... only $100 each... friends of the Master Bowman gave my children gifts of arrows and trinkets and camaraderie...
for lunch, the g'nad clan had brought sandwiches, chips, garden fresh cherry 'maters, strawberries and grapes... one of Osage's friends, Mickey, (a.k.a. the Ferret) has a tradition of bringing hot links to the MO-Jam... the Master Bowman got two, and he and I enjoyed them immensely... now, they weren't the "nukular", hot, but they were tastey...
in keeping with the Axe & Bow tradition, there were certainly fine axes present... I particularly liked this one...
We spent quite a bit of time on the archery range... while theboy was learning how to handle his new bow, the girl demonstrated her talent with her bow that she received from Osage last year... I was impressed...
we departed around 1600, a little earlier than planned, but thenewboy refused to take his nap and we didn't want to push our luck, as he was being a very good little boy... We paused to take this pic, then with hugs, promises to keep in touch and get together before next year, we parted company... we are very blessed to have friends the like of Osage, LSAggie, and the rest of the Hobbit Hole Crue...
