I've always wondered about this but don't think I ever asked: what is the etymology of "Van-sama"? :)

Oh, right, you watched Escaflowne in English, didn't you? It's from there. Merle the cat-girl is always yelling "Van-sama" piteously. Anyway when Rosie and her sibs got back from Entmoot, the sibs took one look at the car and yelled "Van-sama"! It stuck
