The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...anyone else recall the "too much water" pic that Hair posted a long time ago?

Long hair looks good on SOME guys...like those with Nordic ancestry. And if they grow it long, they have to at least have the sensibility of having it trimmed in a flattering cut. The scraggly hippie look just makes them look old and sloppy.

Sensible? flattering cut? Next you'll say he'd look better with a shower.

sigh...you'd think that when the boss changes the agenda for tomorrow's meeting he'd tell the person in charge of the meeting...

Maybe a shower would be ok, but he didn't look very good in his coronation outfit. Not compared to Mr. Scruffy Ranger, anyway.

I agree! - The ranger was better. Alkin would turn him into a wuss with all this talk of 'flattering cuts' ;~D

Oh... *now* I remember.

LOL!

How could you forget!

And that was the time 2J went to show the HH to one of her more demure homeschooling acquaintances, as I recall. Oops...

Well, ecurbh and I went on the great mission to find the Repub National office so we could get some Bush/Cheney signs.

Well, the address in the phone book was wrong, they've moved, luckily there was a campaign office for a local GOP candidate nearby and we could ask about it. They gave us directions to the "new bigger office" the RNC rents for the campaign years. Well, it was an old run down house in Tumwater, with tacky signs on it half falling off, signs that had already fallen off the wall laying around the yard, and the place was locked, no one around at 10:00 on a weekday. All the signage we saw was for local offices, no Bush Cheney signs in the yard, so I'd assume they don't have any.

No wonder the Republicans can't get together a decent message here.

We're gonna go to the web site.

Webcam doesn't refresh as often as it used to. The servers crashed right before Isabel hit. So I think it's every five minutes or so.

But we'll stand there until you see us.
