Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'd always end up with one laundry basket that I'd packed until I could barely carry it. It'd have been easier to just do two trips.
Of course, I SHOULD have been appreciative. When I first moved back here, I didn't have a car 'cause I didn't have a license. I had to walk to the nearest laundromat, lugging my laundry in my military dufflebag. Usually it was vey heavy, too, especially with the laundry detergent and when it was hot it was miserable.
I really like my washer and dryer...

BTW...I watched up to (I think) episode 25 last night.
-->I should have seen that coming. I shouldn't get attached to characters. But I'm still rather ticked off at the writers at the moment.
Was that really necessary?

I just kayaked in from the coast, and boy are my arms tired. (ba da bump) Aw man! I am jealous!
My friend Peggy that I am staying with now lives only a few miles from the drop off point for the 42 mile paddle down the Brazos into Waco. That route is where I won the women's singles competition 7 years ago. I've been wishing I had my kayak here with me this week cause I think a few hours paddling down the river would do wonders for my nerves right now.

Laundry is now in the dryer. I washed the lights and darks seperately, took the delicate stuff out to air-dry, and shoved the rest into one dryer. I'll go back for it in forty minutes... couldn't see waiting around, there was no one there and the room doesn't have any chairs.
Spoiler: Yeah, that was my reaction too. I think perhaps they have a reason for killing off likable characters, I mean, the whole show is about life and death. I liked Roy's line about "I'm trying to remember my theory of human transmutation here". Very touching. But grr - they'd better not kill Riza!
Incidentally the opening and closing change again now.... I really hate this close, you'll probably understand why when you see it.

Spoiler: Yeah, so far I'm liking Roy more and more, which is worrisome. I'm hoping he's not on the way out. Yeah, he has his problems, but he's been through a lot.

Well, it was funny at first, then made me sad.
'The Barbarian is watching, and he chuckles' kind of feeling, you know?
To: RosieCotton
Spoiler... Well, he's not dead yet (ep 43)... and they're making a movie set two years later, so surely the wonderful Ed-vs-Roy stuff will continue, right? Which is also why I don't think the brothers will get what they've lost back.

Poor Al...he has it rougher in a lot of ways, though of course Ed's blaming himself for everything, so he's going through a lot mentally.

I have a pair of Severum that I have had for about 7 yrs. I think they are both boys. And some danios that I've had for about 5 yrs that are breeding new little danios all the time. And 2 little cory cats that I bought the same time as the danios. I like the cory cats best. Like busy little vacuum cleaners.

Hi, W and MBY! HAH! I thought it was Sir Francis Drake and that crowd plus a convenient storm, but what the heck do I know? I suppose Gandalf and a couple of fleets from Tol Eresseä and Alqualondë could have managed it...

I think it was Gandalf advising Sir Francis, Argh. And I'm fairly positive that Gandalf conjured the storm! :-)
