Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Bob Seger- You'll Accomp'ny Me
A gypsy wind is blowing warm tonight
The sky is star lit and the time is right
And still you're tellin' me you have to go
Before you leave there's something you should know
Yeah, something you should know, babe
I've seen you smiling in the summer sun
I've seen your long hair flying when you run
I've made my mind up that it's meant to be
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Out where the rivers meet the sound and sea
You're high above me now
You're wild and free, ah but
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Some people say that love's a losin' game
You start with fire but you lose the flame
The ashes smolder but the warmth's soon gone
You end up cold and lonely on your own
I'll take my chances, babe, I'll risk it all
I'll win your love or I'll take the fall
I've made my mind up, girl, it's meant to be
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
It's written down some where, it's got to be
You're high above me flyin' wild and free
Oh, but someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Out where the rivers meet the sound and sea
I feel it in my soul, it's meant to be
Oh, someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me
One of those songs a chick ~dreams~ of having dedicated to her. Simple, but sweet. Bob Seger's an old favorite of mine!

Let's just park at Benaroya, stroll over to the market and decide when we get there what we all feel like. We'll have dozens of options there.
To: RMDupree
It gets me every time. Seger has ~that~ voice that just yanks those old memories from their hidden places and sets 'em out.Specially when there are some extremely *special* memories to those tunes. I think it's a good night for me to go there. :-)

I would agree. Park at Benaroya and link up somewhere near the market.
Even Elliots down on Alaskan wouldn't be too bad of a walk. There's an elevator for the steep part. :-)

The team order keeps surprising me.Yes, it seems they really got jumbled up this time. Was glad to see the Dad & Daughter (Jim and Marsha?) did well, I'm rooting for them!
