The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, I certainly hope that she pulls through the surgery. My grandfather's had quite a few open heart surgeries (4 of them, last time I counted) with the most recent being a quadruple-bypass, and he's doing well.

Modern medicine is a marvel, but I'll send some prayers up too!

How did the half-sister visit go for Myranda?

The visit went very well. I had taken Myranda to Kansas City to visit her dad's parents there even though her dad was out of the picture. The grandparents still wanted to see her. So, several members of the family she had met before. But not her dad or her sister.

Once when I had her up there visiting her brother (older than the sister) came over to the house and when he found out Myranda was inside he refused to even come in and meet her. We didn't know until after he left that he'd even been there.

When she said she'd met the sister I was initially concerned. But, it was nothing like that. She acted like a long lost sister. They were both happy to see one another. :-)

Concert day is almost here! Sorry I didn't catch your earlier posts on the other thread, but here I am....

Are y'all still wanting me to scout out a restaurant for us? Hair mentioned Ivar's, which is fine and on the waterfront. Here are more waterfront choices:

Ivar's
Old Spaghetti Factory
Red Robin
Fisherman's
Steamers Seafood Cafe
Elliott's Oyster House
Anthony's
Crabpot
The Salmon Cooker
6-7(at the Edgewater Hotel)

Well? Any of those sound good? Need more information on any of them? If I think of any others, I'll post them for you.

It's just a little pin prick...
Just a little ahhhhhhh...
You may feel a little thick.
