Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sounds like an Access person to me. :-)
...and (tipping glass) roger on the rum solution.
Now having a black-and-tan in a Martini glass. No, I don't know why. Steph makes things and tries them out on me. I feel so used. :-)

Not anymore. It was big and blustery, but blew through quick.
The 10 o'clock news shoudl be on any minute, so I'll be able to see if they finally put out the brush fires.

Hadn't thought of that. Hope the fires are out.
Myranda just called. She's in Kansas City with her dad. His mom is having open heart surgery tomorrow and it's looking pretty bad. They're saying her odds of living through it aren't good. But, she is bad off without it.
And on top of all that drama. Myranda is sick.
But, she met her half-sister for the first time today. That was good for her.

Hi there... well... the whole birthday concept was overshadowed by meetings of indeterminate purpose, and hours spent writing things that no other human being will ever read.
Steph says "Hi there!" right back atcha. :-)

I never send cards to anyone. That way... nobody gets particularly offended when I forget them. :-)

Should not hafta work on birthdays!
This was the first year in a long time that I actually *did* work on my birthday. First 2 years I taught here I thought they were exceedingly generous in scheduling spring break around my birthday. Seemed appropriate to me.
Don't give Steph too hard of a time. Does *she* know it's your birthday? :-)
